Oct 23 - 29

Monday, October 23 - Zack went home with Ryan and Ashley last night because today starts our Fall Break. Ryan took the boys to this fun field to get some soccer practice in. I love that these boys have the love of the sport to bring them together.

Tuesday, October 24 - Kendra has been begging me to take her shopping for some new clothes so we finally made a stop at Uptown Cheapskate today. She didn't find much but I loved these pink pants for me! Unfortunately, they were too big so I couldn't get them. We made this stop on our way to Jenni's house. She had a fun cookie decorating party. The kids had a blast decorating (ruining) their cookies. :) It was a fun fall break activity for today.

Wednesday, October 25 - Well, I was trying to be a good mom and take my kids swimming at the Rec Center today. I even let the kids each bring a friend to play with. As I was sitting on the side reading my book, I looked over and Zack had a lifeguard talking to him. Next thing I know, there are two more around him and one was kind of guiding him to the office. I hopped up and ran over there. Poor kid got out of the pool and accidentally wacked his head on a metal bar that normally holds flags right next to the lap pool. He said he turned to walk and just ran smack into the pole. Oops! :) Look at the goose egg!

Thursday, October 26 - I am in charge of Ricki's class Halloween party at school and we are doing a Harry Potter theme. I have looked up a bunch of party ideas and this one jumped out at me. It's a golden Quidditch set made out of soda bottles, dowel rods, and embroidery loops. They are turning out cuter than I had planned on!

Friday, October 27 - Kendra had a big long audiology appointment this morning at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake. We saw a geneticist, audiologist, ENT, and about 3 other doctors and specialists that were all interested in getting Kendra the proper care. She needs an MRI and a few other more simple tests - like a blood test - before we know any more answers to her hearing loss. Crossing my fingers. This afternoon, Zack went with Chase and Erin to Gardener Village to find the witches. So fun!

Saturday, October 28 - Sad sad news today. One of our favorite "F.R.I.E.N.D.S", Matthew Perry, died today. As the article says, he apparently drowned in his pool at his home at age 54. They are assuming that drugs were involved as he's struggled off and on with them for many years. Either way, it's a sad day for fans everywhere.

Sunday, October 29 - Mom always goes all out on her Halloween party and this year as no exception! Look how cute all of the food is! She had games, prizes, and even had a costume contest using old costumes that she has from years past. The kids had a blast and so did the adults! Mom is the best!

Oct 16 - 22

Monday, October 16 - I subbed for Lisa Jensen today. This is an accidental selfie with one of my students as she was trying to help me figure out how to use the technology in the classroom. :) This happens often that a student has to help me figure things out. :)

Tuesday, October 17 - This morning was a little insane for me. It started early, about 7:00 am. It was the PTA's annual "Moms and Muffins" morning and I happened to be in charge of it. As if this wasn't enough chaos, I also subbed again for Lisa today. I helped as much as I could for as long as I could but at 8:45, I had to head to my classroom and make sure everything was in order for the day. Luckily, there are amazing women on the PTA and that were on my committee so it was no problem that I left a little early. I also very much enjoyed being with my kids during this fun event!

Wednesday, October 18 - Ricki is constantly coming up with new crafty things to do. She has been on a slime-making kick lately. This is just her latest one in a series of slime colors. I love this girl and her fun and crafty nature.

Thursday, October 19 - It's that time again...Halloween nails! My mom always loves her Jacks so much and I enjoy doing them! Bring on Halloween!

Friday, October 20 - It was Chick-Fil-A customer appreciation day and they did some really fun things! Topping them all was the hot air balloon in the parking lot. They went up in the air a few times and threw gifts and swag to the customers below. They come up with some pretty creative ways to get the community involved! Inside, we went and said hi to Nick then got a picture with the lady cow. :) Oh I'm in love with Chick-Fil-A!

Saturday, October 21 - Today was our last soccer game of the season. It's always a bittersweet game. It's sad to see the season end but frees up some time for Simon and Zack during the week (no more practices) as well as our Saturdays (no more games). It was extra awesome because we won this game 1-0 AND we had a whole cheering section! Dave & Viv, Steve & Sandi, Jenni, Halle and Brielle all came to cheer my boys on! I extra love these games when they are spent with my family!

Sunday, October 22 - Kendra is a little obsessed with the adorable Olivia so she did a mini photo shoot with her on the way to the park after we ate dinner. Could she be any cuter though?

Oct 9 - 15

Monday, October 9 - Look how cute Viv's nails turned out! I kind of love them and want them on my own fingers. :)

Tuesday, October 10 - It was a day of appointments today. First thing this morning, Simon had an injection done on his back. Hopefully this helps him, poor guy! Then this afternoon, Nick and Kendra had dermatology appointments. Being a teenager is hard enough so I don't want them to have to deal with acne on top of everything else.

Wednesday, October 11 - I went on a field trip with Ricki today. It started out good. We went to This is the Place in Salt Lake. She insisted on sitting next to me on the bus, not by her friends. By lunch, she was reduced to tears. Her tummy hurt and she just wanted to lay down. I let her lay on my lap but there was nowhere else for her to go. I did have her eat a little but she wouldn't eat much. Then, by this afternoon, she was all smiles and happiness. She seemed okay to me later but then when we got home, she fell asleep on the floor so I don't know if she was really sick or if she just had some anxiety but either way, it ended up being a good day.

Thursday, October 12 - Mom gave me tomatoes from her garden and I have enjoyed canning them today. I'm excited for all the yummy hot soups and dishes I'll be able to make this winter with these!

Friday, October 13 - We keep talking at bunco about how much fun it would be to be able to go out and just visit without the game looming over us. Today, we made that happen...sort of. Obviously not everyone was able to come but there were us five pictured plus Meg (she left before we got this pic). It was really fun! Ricki and I are going to embark on a project that may or may not pan out. I want to take this old dress of mine, cut the bodice off, and make it a skirt for Ricki to wear. We'll see if it ends up turning out. :)

Saturday, October 14 - It was our annual pumpkin patch day! We started out at Las Glorias for lunch then the whole fam headed over to the patch. As always, we enjoyed walking around, picking out pumpkins, and posing for ALL the pictures. :) I love my family!

Sunday, October 15 - It was another beautiful Sunday evening where we were able to eat and play outside. I am loving this weather! I hope it stays for at least a few more weeks!

Oct 2 - 8

Monday, October 2 - I am making a ton of these Christ nightlights right now. I made them for mom's ward to give out as Primary birthday gifts. As more and more people have seen them, I'm getting orders from people that want to give them to their grandkids for Christmas. It's a sweet little side gig! I'm charging $5 each for them so I'm making a little bit off of each one of them - which makes up for the time it takes me to make them. I'm super happy with this!

Tuesday, October 3 - I sent out a few messages to some ladies in our ward about going to the temple. Missing in this picture is Leslie Pond but she was there. We had a really nice time going together. I need to do this more often!

Wednesday, October 4 - I have been working on some projects today. I went through the process of putting away summer clothes and got out winter. :( I have SO MANY clothes so this is a picture of the ones I am getting rid of. Mom's sweet friend, Pennie Thompson, asked me to make vinyl lettering for these buckets. I think they are going to turn out so cute!

Thursday, October 5 - Tonight we had girl's bunco. It was at Meg's house and we decided to let each person decide if they want to dress up or not. Cute mom showed up with frosting in her "donut" hair. It was hilarious! :) Bunco is always a fun night with the girls!

Friday, October 6 - The first picture is of Zack trying on pants. We realized he has very few pairs of pants for winter so we went shopping. These are size 10 slim. Remember, Zack is 12 so a 10 slim shouldn't completely drown him! He's laughing so hard because he could fit two of him in this waist! :) Then tonight, we went to watch Jake in his football game. It was super fun to be there all together. Go Riverton!

Saturday, October 7 - We had a soccer game tonight at 5:30 and then all the boys hopped in cars and went to the Real soccer game. It was Copper Mountain night at Real and they had a blast!

Sunday, October 8 - These boys! :) This is how reverent they are in church! Haha!

Sep 25 - Oct 1

Monday, September 25 - Got to check out one of my favorite views again tonight. It was extra awesome because we won 5-0! Go Copper Mountain!

Tuesday, September 26 - Marisa texted me first thing this morning to tell me that Nick was in the Mountain Ridge newsletter as a Student of the Month. Yay Nick!! I'm so proud of his academic achievements but I love when he is recognized for his citizenship too. The value of his character is just as, if not more, important to me than his academic pursuits. We're so happy for him!

Wednesday, September 27 - Nick loves all things Cars and Cars 2. This hasn't changed since he was a little guy. He got this fun shirt that has the whole script of Cars 2 written on it. To complete the outfit, he got Lightning McQueen Crocs (shoes), and a Cars watch band. Silly kid!

Thursday, September 28 - I took pictures because this dinner was so yummy and healthy! It's a chicken and veggie wrap with black beans and avocado. YUM!

Friday, September 29 - I got invited to a bridal shower for Maddie Child. They did it at a community park and it was so fun! They had a really nice dinner and dessert and then we watched while she opened some really fun gifts.

Saturday, September 30 - It's conference weekend! One of my favorite weekends of the year! I painted on this fun paint-by-number picture while I listened and watched conference. It's much better if I keep my hands busy during conference. Otherwise, I fall asleep. :) Tonight was mom's Boy's Campout. She did the cutest theme: "Grandma's Tee-party". It was all golf themed. She's the best!

Sunday, October 1 - We had dinner at the Howard's tonight. We are heaven that it's still warm enough to at least eat outside. The kids played a fun game of volley (without a net). We enjoyed sitting out back and watching them play. I'll miss this for the next few months.
