Monday, August 24
I posted this to Facebook with a caption saying "It's a good day when I get to start a new journal AND use my label maker all in the same day!!" I love starting a new journal. It's like a fresh beginning.

Tuesday, August 25
Lame picture, I know. It's the only one I took though. I was at Bed, Bath, and Beyond exchanging the new bedding set I bought there and stumbled upon this. Disregarding the fact that it cost almost the same as 2 non-U chairs at another store, I picked this up for my hubby - who returned the 2 chairs my sister's family bought him for his birthday to the other store and went on a quest to find University of Utah chairs. Oh the things we do to support our sports teams...while we're camping!

Wednesday, August 26
I love when people in my ward have birthdays! It gives us a great excuse to have a girl's night out! Happy birthday Amy!

Thursday, August 27
Tonight was the night of my big Scentsy Open House. It was really fun and I had back-to-back people all evening. I loved it!! I am glad I have recommitted to my business. It will be fun to see what this year brings!

Friday, August 28
Kendra's hair, while beautiful, was in desperate need of a cut. I decided to attempt it myself so I watched a bunch of YouTube videos then cut about 7-8 inches off her hair. I was sad to see her long beautiful locks go but it was so thin and scraggly at the ends, it was necessary. Now, her hair is thicker and more full. She looks way too grown up with short hair though!!

 Saturday, August 29
We, once again, got up before the sun to go on a long run. This time, Jessie Price drove us to the top of Suncrest in Draper and we ran down the hill in preparation for our downhill race coming up. We went 10 miles. Once Alexis told me that her dad got 30,000 steps in one day and I figured that would never ever be me - I couldn't reach that many. Well, now I know how he did it!
In the afternoon, we went over to the park by our house for our annual ward picnic. They set up a HUGE slip-n'-slide down the side of the hill. There was a moment when Jeremy and Simon were fixing the slide so we set Bridgett and Ricki together on it. How cute are they? FBFF's! (Future Best Friends Forever!) :)

Sunday, August 30
We celebrated Trevan and Jake's birthdays at the McCullough's tonight. They had a nice BBQ and it was a gorgeous evening outside. We thought to get a sibling picture as Kenny was getting ready to leave. I'm sure you can see it in his face but he looks horrible. He is skin and bones...really, it's gross! He's using again and needs to get to rehab but he's refusing. I keep worrying and wondering if this might be the last picture I ever get with my brother. I sure hope not! :(

Monday, August 17
Homemade pizza night! Nick doesn't like many kinds of pizza so when I announced I was making homemade pizzas, he was so happy! You see that half with nothing on it but sauce? That is Nick's side. That's all he likes...sauce! Crazy kid!!

Tuesday, August18
Tonight was our ward's Pinewood Derby. Simon and Nick worked for a few hours to recreate Simon's winning car from when he was in scouts. Unfortunately, Nick's car wasn't in first place but he did make top 10. Way to go Nick!

Wednesday, August 19
My bedspread has been coming apart lately and desperately needing a wash. I'm afraid that when I wash it, it will just fall apart. I was at Jordan Landing today and went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They had this beautiful set and I had a 20% off coupon so I just couldn't resist. It came with 12 pieces including the throw pillows and a coverlet for the summer. I am so excited to have something new and so pretty in my room.

Thursday, August 20
I have been having a really hard time lately. There is just so much on my plate and so many people in my life right now that are hurting, I'm having a hard time dealing with it all. I had 2 different friends post this to my Facebook wall and it really made me think about myself and how close the Lord really is. It also gave me a new perspective on my life. Thanks Ames and James!

Friday, August 21
My friends and I got up at the crack of dawn. Oh wait, it was about 2 hours BEFORE the "crack of dawn"! We met at 4:30 am and ran 10 miles. This was my first 10 miler ever. I am happy to say that I did survive and I had over 19K steps by 8:30 am! No matter what else happened this day, I accomplished more than most days by 7:00 am!!

Saturday, August 22
What a beautiful morning to spend a couple of hours in the temple surrounded by wonderful women that I look up to and love dearly. The Spirit is always strong in the temple but knowing I was there with ladies that support me and that are striving for the same things I am brought a whole new meaning and even deeper Spirit to this session. I am so thankful that the Relief Society organized this and can't wait until the next time we go!

Sunday, August 23
Jenni & BJ went to Virginia. Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Jim went to Oregon. Do I feel abandoned? Nope! I didn't have time to have those feelings because I was responsible for 8 little tiny precious lives for about 48 hours. We had loads of fun with the McCullough kids for the short time we had them!

Monday, August 10
Um, could she be any cuter? How about that crazy hair!!!

Tuesday, August 11
Today was Zack's first day of school. He went with no problems and came home excited to tell me everything they did and what he learned. Tonight, Kendra FINALLY (after about 2 months of wiggling) lost her bottom tooth. The new one is growing back behind her row of teeth. She's going to need some major orthodontic work in the future!

Wednesday, August 12
Chloe was over at our house playing when it was time to go to our last summer movie so we asked her mom if she could come along. We saw the Crood's and these two little friends had a blast together! Jenni and her kids also met us there then we had lunch together at Jenni's house.

 Thursday, August 13
I spent the day at my parent's house while they got new carpet installed. It was crazy with furniture and things all over. It will be so nice when it's all done though.

Friday, August 14
Nope, no image coming. Today was one of the worst days I can remember so no image for today. In fact, I'd like to just block it out of my memory and not go back to it. Like ever. Simon didn't get the Herriman branch. It took us 3+ hours in the dark to reach our ward camp out that should have taken around 1.5 hours. The end.

Saturday, August 15
The ward camp out was fun (once we found it). It was at Vernon Reservoir and the kids had all sorts of fun playing in the dirt and sand, running around, and kayaking or canoeing in the reservoir. I am glad we went! Tonight, mom had all of the boys over for their annual camp out in the backyard. Zacky is actually in this picture, he's just right behind the flame. :) So fun!

Sunday, August 16
As if the events of this past week weren't enough to completely deflate me, a call from my mom this afternoon did me in. Kenny has relapsed. Bad. He's been kicked out of the house and will probably go back to jail soon. I don't nor will I ever understand the hold drugs have on a person. I can't believe he's throwing his entire life away for a stupid high. Apparently, he just doesn't have what it takes right now to come out clean on the other side. I hope he survives long enough to overcome this but for now, I feel like I'm mourning the loss of my only brother. I won't give up but for now, I give in.

Monday, August 3
Simon took off to scout camp first thing this morning. Poor guys, it was raining buckets and didn't stop all day! They had to set up camp in the pouring rain. The compensating factor: they are at Bear Lake! Since the cat is away, us mice decided to play. Mom, Jenni, and I hired two babysitters to watch the kids at Jenni's house then we went to the Parade of Homes. It's our annual tradition and so much fun!!

Tuesday, August 4
Since Simon is gone, I thought I'd do a little home project. I am painting Ricki's room...yikes! One wall will be pink with stripes and the other three will be tan. Here are the beginning phases of this project. Wish me luck!

Wednesday, August 5
My mom's cute neighbor always sends us bags of clothes for the kids. It's SO wonderful! Look how adorable Kendra looks in her new zebra outfit!

Thursday, August 6
Zack was thrilled to go to preschool orientation today and meet his new teacher, Ms. Angie. I think he is going to have a very fun year. She seems very organized and eager to teach. I can't believe my sweet boy is already in preschool!

Friday, August 7
We were invited to Eva's birthday party at the bounce house in West Jordan. The kids got to play and have lots of fun while us mommies (Amie, Karen, and I) got to hang out and visit. The second picture is my biggest step day so far. I ran 8 miles this morning then have had a busy day. Yay for 23,000+ steps!

Saturday, August 8
Today was the Muffett family reunion. My poor Nick was sick and Simon got home late in the afternoon so I took the girls and Zack and went. We had fun catching up with the Muffett clan. Later this evening, Simon and I went to dinner at La Hacienda for our anniversary. 12 years today!!

Sunday, August 9
Today was our annual trip to Silver Lake for dinner. It was nice being in the beautiful mountains and enjoying our family.

Monday, July 27
The first day of school has arrived *sigh*! Nick is now officially in Mrs. Burke's 4th grade class and Kendra is in Mrs. Eastman's 2nd grade class. I think it's going to be a good year! Tonight, for family night, we went to Nick's end of season baseball party. It was a blast and we were able to give all three coaches a signed baseball and a basket of goodies from the boys.

Tuesday, July 28
Tonight was "Back to School Night" at Blackridge Elementary. I failed to get a picture of Kendra with Mrs. Eastman but here is Nick with his new teacher, Mrs. Burke.

Wednesday, July 29
Mom got tickets for herself, Jenni, Halle, Kendra, and I to go see The Little Mermaid at Hale Theater tonight. We absolutely LOVED it! Mom had a crazy night so we never ended up getting a picture with her but we had so much fun together!

Thursday, July 30
We found out some exciting news today. The Herriman Branch Manager position is now available! Simon is definitely going to apply!! Can you imagine how amazing it would be to have him so close to home??

Friday, July 31
So...I took a picture of a squirrel in my back yard. It may seem like I had an uneventful day but actually, before 7:30 am, I had run 9 miles! 9 MILES!! Anything over 4 miles is new for me so 9 miles was so exciting!

Saturday, August 1
I went shopping for a couple of hours today and one of the best things I bought was some new decorations for over the cupboards by the sink in my kitchen. I'm liking them!

Sunday, August 2
Happy birthday to Simon! We celebrated his birthday with sandwiches and fruit and family in our backyard. It was a fun day!
