Feb 22-28

Monday, February 22 - We have been putting off taking the kids to dinner for their awesome report cards and parent-teacher conferences so tonight, we did it. We went to Sizzler for a combined reward dinner/family night. They said it was the "best family night ever"!

Tuesday, February 23 - Sometimes, mommy gets in the bath when she gets home from running in the freezing cold. Sometimes, she takes forever. Sometimes, babies fall asleep on the hard tile floor waiting for their mommies to get out! :)
Tonight was our first official book club (after our initial planning meeting). I am embarrassed to admit that I didn't quite finish the book in time. I tried but it just didn't happen. I did finish it later in the week and it was a really good book. The conversation and relationships were even better though! The book is called "A Lasting Impression".

Wednesday, February 24 - Erin Coles, Tami Hansen, Melinda Dow, and I decided to join the rest of the entire state of Utah at the Hogle Zoo for free zoo day. It was actually really fun but so so crowded. I love that these little kids are growing up together. It was a fun outing!

Thursday, February 25 - Those eyes!! I actually didn't end up taking a picture because I woke up with a super sore throat and felt like a truck had run over me. I cancelled all of my plans for the day (like volunteering and babysitting for Jenni) and laid in bed or on the couch all day long! I couldn't help posting this picture of my Ricki though. Those eyes just kill me. She has my heart!

Friday, February 26 - I woke up feeling much better and was glad I spent a day resting. Dave is still dealing with his arm stuff. He had a skin graft done. They took skin from his upper left thigh and grafted it on the outside of his wrist. The surgery went really well and he seems to be doing great! It still amazes me what we can do with modern medicine!

Saturday, February 27 - It's a long story but...Simon and I rode the "Fun Bus" with a bunch of his coworkers to Wendover. We ate dinner at the buffet, hung out with his friends, and put our vouchers from the bus in the slots for a few minutes of entertainment. I'm so glad we went but I was happy to get home too. The gambling scene just super duper is not our scene! :)

Sunday, February 28 -  This boy has always loved cooking. When he was really little, he loved watching cooking shows or infomercials advertising new cooking tools. Today, I asked him if he'd like to learn how to bake cupcakes and he jumped at the chance! He did a really great job and did almost all of the process himself! I was so proud of him for accomplishing something new!!

Feb 15-21

Monday, February 15 - We simply love having our fun neighborhood friends over to play. While Zack had Chase over, Chloe and Sicilee came knocking on the door. Giant play date? Why not!

Tuesday, February 16 - Nick earned his Bear Badge at scouts tonight.  We are so proud of this sweet boy for all he has accomplished. I just can't believe he's almost 10 and already graduating to the Webelos! Good job Nick!

Wednesday, February 17 - Jenni and I love Wednesday lunch dates to Cafe Rio because our favorite entree and drink are on special on Wednesdays. Pair that with free kids meals and it's a win-win! Tonight, I braided the girls' hair so that it would be easy to do the next morning. Kendra's turned out awesome but I think Ricki is a wiggle worm in the night so most of hers had fallen out by morning. This was her first braid ever though so it had to be documented!

Thursday, February 18 - This was our car ride to preschool. Not the safest option but it had to be done in order to get everyone there. We babysat Anna Nyholm for the day. It was so fun to have her here. She is so sweet and her and Zack play great together. Yay for baby best friends!!

Friday, February 19 - I have been meaning to get this craft done for weeks but now that it's done, I don't like it. I wanted it to be cute "subway art" but instead, it looks like a mess. It was worse before I outlined it in black but I think I'm going to go back and do it on the computer then have it printed. Darn it! That was a lot of time wasted!

Saturday, February 20 - I forgot to get a picture while we were together but we went out with Shawn and Melia Astin. Funny enough, we are in the same stake now and discovered tonight that they were in the same ward as us in West Jordan (our townhouse) but they moved in right as we moved out. Small world! We enjoyed our evening visiting with them and catching up. Shawn was such an amazing part of Simon's conversion. It is sad that we haven't stayed better friends. I'm glad we at least see them twice a year at the adult session of stake conference.

Sunday, February 21 - Our family got to meet this cute girl that Kenny is dating. Her name is Katie Hitchcock and she has a sweet little 6-month-old boy named Kameron. I met her at Jenni's house on Friday night but she met everyone else and the kids tonight. We really like her a lot! We hope she sticks around for a while! ;) And how handsome is my brother!?!?

Feb 8-14

Monday, February 8 - I finished my love sign and banner. I have so very few Valentine's decorations, I was glad to get this done!

Tuesday, February 9 - I have been wanting to replace our towel rack in the bathroom with hooks but I didn't really know I'd be doing it today! I took the towel rack down just to inspect it and ended up just drilling the holes to put up the hooks. I like them! Home improvements all around!

Wednesday, February 10 - I wanted to make a note of the low gas prices right now. I can't even remember paying less than $2 per gallon...like ever! I paid $1.56 today and it only took $31.20 to fill my tank! Unheard of! I do remember a couple of years ago when it cost me over $70 to fill the tank so this is just a great relief!

Thursday, February 11 - Crunch time! I told Simon I wanted the front room project done by February 12 before Christmas. Here we are on February 11 putting on coats of paint until 2:00 in the morning. It is really coming along though and I can't say too much. He's been working non-stop on it trying to get it done for me. The only thing left to do is the baseboards. He'll get that done in the next week or so and we'll be done with the construction zone.

Friday, February 12 - We hosted a Valentine's party for a few of the couples in our ward. It was so fun! We had dinner then played the Newlywed Game. I can't speak for everyone else but I had an absolute blast! Simon had a lot of fun too! I know I've said it before but I love my ward and the friends we've made here.

Saturday, February 13 - Happy Birthday Sweet Brielle! Brielle turned 3 and had a super fun princess birthday party with Halle. Queen Elsa came all the way from Arendelle to celebrate their birthdays with them. It was really so much fun!

Sunday, February 14 - Happy Valentine's Day! Jenni & BJ had a birthday party at their house to celebrate Halle and Brielle's birthdays. The princess theme continued from yesterday's party! It was fun being together and watching these sweet girls get all excited over their new toys and clothes. While we were sitting there, the doorbell rang. It was daddy's traditional V-Day drop off. He gave Jenni, Mom, and I rings from Mexico. They are gorgeous! I LOVE mine!!

Feb 1-7

Monday, February 1 - Happy Birthday Princess Halle! She turned 5 years old! We got to celebrate with yummy Harmon's bakery cupcakes at bowling. For family night, we decided to take the new (to us) 4-wheeler out for a spin. There is so much snow on the ground, Simon was able to pull the kids around on sleds. Even in the middle of the road! They had a total blast!

Tuesday, February 2 - Ricki loves when it's time for me to get my hair done. Penney Thomson gives her one sucker after the next and while my hair is processing, she gives her rides in the laundry basket. No wonder Ricki loves it there!

Wednesday, February 3 - Amie had a crazy night and didn't know what to do with her kids so I went to the daycare, picked them up, and took them around with me. They had dinner with us then stayed until her craziness had passed. We love our Fraser BFF's.

Thursday, February 4 - Lame pic but it was the only thing I actually took a picture of for the day. Simon went to Ikea to buy our bookshelves and while he was there, he had me go online to look at chairs. I really liked this chair so he bought it! One step closer...

Friday, February 5 - Simon had the day off because he works tomorrow so he spent the day putting together the new bookshelves and desk. It was a mess and took several hours but I think it will look nice. In the evening, Amie and I went on a BFF date to the Jazz game. It was super fun to be with her and the Jazz WON! Yay! It was a good day!

Saturday, February 6 - He got all the shelving done! He's now working on a caulking all of the pieces so that they look built-in then he'll finish the wainscot. We're getting close to the deadline... He has until February 12 to get it all done! While he worked on that, I made jam. Since I have a kid that eats a PB&J every single day, we go through jam pretty quick. We ran out yesterday so I figured it was time to make some.

Sunday, February 7 - Best Superbowl EVER!! My Broncos teamed up against the Panthers and they WON!!! I knew they were a good team but the best!?!?! That rocks! We had a fun party at the Pearson's. It was a good time!
