May 22 - 28

Monday, May 22 - Simon had to work late tonight so when Jenni invited us to go watch Halle's gymnastics performance, we jumped on the chance! She did such a great job!! She is so advanced for such a young girl. I wish Kendra would have stuck with it a little longer.

Tuesday, May 23 - As the preschool year is winding down, Miss Angie planned the annual Teddy Bear Picnic at the park by her house. Luckily, Simon is working the late shift so he was even able to stop by for a while. This was the first time Zack showed us his amazing monkey bar skills! He is for sure a little monkey!

Wednesday, May 24 - I guess Kendra has some pretty spectacular monkey bar skills too! She came home from school with half of her right hand peeling off. I had to cut a lot of the dead skin off and it is starting to heal but look how awful! I hope this doesn't leave permanent scarring on her hands!

Thursday, May 25 - I can't believe we're already to Zack's preschool graduation! Time just flies by!! I love my sweet little graduate and am so proud of the progress he has made this year. I haven't for one moment regretted holding him back from Kindergarten and now I really feel like he is ready to take on the world! He can't wait for July to start going to "Nick and Kendra's school"!

Friday, May 26 - This is my view every evening (and sometimes throughout the day too) from about 10:00 pm - 2:00 am. I am busy working on the book page place mats for the wedding. My goal is to be done by Sunday so that all next week I can just focus on the cake and what I need to do to get that done in time.

Saturday, May 27 - Mom, Jenni, and I made the trek up to Park City to take part in Katie's bachelorette party. We had dinner at a yummy pizza shop called Maxwell's. From there, we went to Molly Bloom's Dueling Piano Bar and listened to the fun music of two pianists/singers. They took requests and embarrassed Katie by making her come up on stage and dance. After that, the group was going back to the hotel for a surprise stripper. We debated for a second whether to go but first of all, a stripper? Three Mormon girls? And second, I have been fighting a sinus infection all week and I just wasn't up to it. We got home at 11:00 and I was wiped out so I was glad we came home. However, it was a fun night and we are just this much closer to inducting Katie into our family for good! :)

Sunday, May 28 - Have I mentioned how much I love love?? Tonight was Kenny and Katie's rehearsal dinner. My sweet parents hosted it in their backyard and put on a nice barbecue for them. After we ate, we practiced walking down the isle and made a final determination on what order to walk in. I love this picture of Katie and Mike. They are such a wonderful family!

May 15 - 21

Monday, May 15 - For my birthday, I got to help get all ready for a book report he was doing at school today. He had to dress up then talk about Henry Ford. Doesn't he look handsome?!? We had our bowling banquet so Marisa was watching Ricki and Zack for me. When I came out of my room from getting ready, this sleepy head is what I found! :) The banquet was fun! Jenni had bought me a balloon and cupcakes to celebrate and mom bought my lunch. So sweet!

Tuesday, May 16 - Jessie arranged this breakfast for me at Kneader's for my birthday. I have the greatest friends ever! (Just wait until Saturday's post!!)

Wednesday, May 17 - Seriously, snow after my birthday!?! What is this!! Nick and his poor team had to play a game in the snow! I am a fair weather type of gal so the kids and I sat in the car and watched the game from the parking lot. It wasn't the same but I couldn't expect the kids to sit in the freezing cold for two hours!

Thursday, May 18 - I am so proud of my Kendra girl! She passed off all of her multiplication problems and was knighted by King Giles at school today! Simon had the day off so he was able to watch her knighting too. Afterward, we went home so that he could work on this fun project...digging the hole for the tramp! As you can see, he had a lot of help so it wasn't too bad. Huge shout-out to Ryan for coming two days in a row and being a machine at digging!

Friday, May 19 - Simon took really good days off for the kids' school stuff! Nick had his 5th grade music performance this morning. He had to dress up in 80's clothes so I told him to wear a bright shirt, a hat sideways, and high-top sneakers. I think he looks pretty 80's! After that, we rushed home so Simon could keep going on the tramp. I'm happy to say it is in and the kids are loving it!

Saturday, May 20 - You will have to excuse the picture overload here but we had a busy Saturday. Simon worked so I was on my own for kids sports. Kendra's ankle has been feeling better and she was jumping on the tramp yesterday so she decided to try to play soccer. She did a great job and said that it didn't bother her ankle at all! Yay! An hour after her game, we had Zack's game which, as you can see, my parents came to. :) An hour after his game, the kids had their piano recital for the year. Fortunately, Simon got off work at the same time the recital was so he just quick ran over and made it in time to hear the kids play. Tonight, I thought we were just going out to dinner with the Olson's then maybe having dessert with them and the Price's. Well, you can imagine my surprise when Jessie told us to run down in her basement to see her new pool table...and all of my friends were down there! :) Marisa made me this super awesome Diet Coke cake!!! Seriously!?!?! How awesome is that!?!?! I have the greatest friends in the entire world!!!!!!

Sunday, May 21 - So I mysteriously got sick this morning and ended up lying on the couch all day! I didn't go to church and I wasn't even up to going to dinner! I am sad I missed holding this sweet baby but I'm glad I didn't go contaminate anyone. :) Especially Dave while he is still recovering from surgery this past Tuesday. He looks great though and that baby could not possibly be any cuter!

May 8 - 14

Monday, May 8 - If you didn't know better, you would think I was nesting! I cleaned a bunch of stuff out of the basement and am in the process of going through the kids' clothes to get rid of them. Anything girl size 2T or smaller and anything boy size 4T or smaller is going! I have kept one or two outfits from each size to give my kids later but otherwise, everything goes! I can't wait to clean these things out and be rid of them...even though it pretty much means we're done. :(

Tuesday, May 9 - I am having so much crafting fun! I made this giant book page wreath out of two pool noodles, some duct tape, an old book, and a bag of hot glue sticks! This is one of two that I am making. Can't wait for the wedding!!

Wednesday, May 10 - Kendra hurt her ankle over a week ago and it is still painful, swollen, and bruised. It was time to finally take her in. Yep, she tore a ligament so she will be in this brace until it starts feeling better. Poor girl!

Thursday, May 11 - Poor Nick is always nervous about being hit by a ball. Well, he came home from baseball practice with a perfect baseball-sized bruise on his chest. The funny thing is that it wasn't a kid-pitcher that hit him...it was his coach! :) He said it hurt but he didn't cry. Brave kid!

Friday, May 12 - Zack's little friend Sky invited him to her birthday party. Her mom, Amy, sent these awesome pictures of Zack having a blast at the party! He loved the super hero theme and came home with all kinds of stories about Spiderman visiting the party!

Saturday, May 13 - Jenni threw Katie an amazing bridal shower! The theme was "He put a ring on it". It's kind of a family inside joke. She bought Kenny and Katie matching shirts that say "I put a ring on it" and "He put a ring on it". She did such a nice job and Katie couldn't have been cuter at her shower!

Sunday, May 14 - Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers in my life! I was truly blessed with wonderful women as role models in my life. As a child, I had both of my grandma's to look up to and learn from. My mom has always been my rock, role model, and example of what I want to be and who I want to become. When I met Simon, I got Viv and I couldn't ask for a more kind, loving, and strong example in my life. As we've grown up together, my sister has become my best friend and the person that I confide everything in. I couldn't be who I am without these wonderful ladies and I am so grateful that I was able to spend this beautiful Mother's Day with each of them!

May 1 - 7

Monday, May 1 - Simon went out to start up his truck and click, click, click...nothing happened! Well, I know nothing about engines and even I knew that the blue battery acid on that battery couldn't be good! We were thankful that it was nothing major and Simon was able to buy a new battery and port and fix it for under $150. Lesson learned: when the battery starts leaking acid, maybe replace it before it won't start!

Tuesday, May 2 - I know this picture doesn't look like much but if you take a closer look, you'll see that wedding invitations have taken over my front room! The goal is to get them sent out by tomorrow night. It is going well so I think we will make that deadline!

Wednesday, May 3 - I wouldn't normally post such an unflattering picture of myself but it was kind of fun taking this picture with all of the foils in my hair. I told Jess that I wanted to get a little closer to my natural color so this is what we ended up with. I love it!! Jessie is a miracle worker with my hair!

Thursday, May 4 - So I did finish the invitations last night but they didn't get mailed until today. It doesn't seem like much work in this picture but hours upon hours of work went into getting these ready, addressed, and mailed! I am happy to have that part of it behind me. Tonight, we had a Relief Society activity on growing the perfect tomato. Sister and brother Wilcox gave a very nice presentation and then Robin did a fresh salsa demo. It was a fun evening!

Friday, May 5 - Happy graduation day Ryan! He got his bachelor's degree in accounting. It was so nice being there with our family to support him in this awesome accomplishment.

Saturday, May 6 - My stake had a special women's conference and had the singer/songwriter Hillary Weeks come preform. She was amazing! It was a very spiritual morning and I am so thankful I was able to share it with my mom, sister, and grandma.

Sunday, May 7 - Happy birthday to me! With Mother's Day being next week, my family decided to spoil me rotten this week! We had lots of fun and I got so many nice things. I love birthday month!!
