Aug 21 - 27

Monday, August 21 - Today we had a complete solar eclipse cross around 11:00 am. We weren't in an area of totality but we were very close, around 90%. Mass amounts of these awesome solar eclipse glasses were sold around the state and from about 10:00am -1:00pm, you could watch the moon slowly pass in front of the sun. We had several friends that traveled to Idaho to watch the eclipse in its totality. It was a pretty big and awesome event. Apparently, this won't happen again for 90 years!

Tuesday, August 22 - Ricki's first day of preschool has arrived!! She has been so excited for this day to come and she did great at school! I can't believe my baby is in preschool! :*( I didn't exactly have "alone time" because I watched Kam for the day while his mommy and daddy are smootchin' in the Caribbean but it was a fun change to get some one-on-one time with my favorite Kam. :)

Wednesday, August 23 - I may or may not have been complaining to Alexis that all my kids want to do is watch YouTube ALL THE TIME! They could seriously sit for hours and hours watching other kids play video games. Seriously?!? SO boring! I about died laughing when Alexis texted me this meme. It is just so horribly true!!!! :)

Thursday, August 24 - I love that my mom loves to try new things on her nails! She loves Disney and especially all things Mickey Mouse. We've done the Mickey on her nails before but never paired with polka dot french tips before. So fun!!

Friday, August 25 - My life for the past few weeks has been cleaning out and organizing my house...and garage. We need all of our "stuff" out of the basement so Simon can really start working on it. He took one truckload of things to Jenni' house last night, another truckload of things this morning, and now the back of my van is loaded with more things! Can't wait to get rid of it all!

Saturday, August 26 - We had a crazy busy day!! It started just before 7:00 am at my sister's house. We had a HUGE yard sale! I ended up making over $150 but better than that, all the junk is gone!! Later, I tried a new hairdo for our ward picnic. I don't like drying my hair in the summer so I have been searching for new do's that I can do wet. This is super cute on Ricki but Simon informed me that it was not cute on me so after about an hour, I took it out. :) We went straight from the ward party to Simon's friend's house to watch the big fight. It was Mayweather vs. McGregor. McGregor, a UFC fighting champion was slated to win against famous boxer Mayweather but boxing enthusiasts were wrong! Mayweather kicked McGregor's trash! It ended in a TKO during the 10th round. It was fun to be at the party with a bunch of people rooting for both sides.

Sunday, August 27 - We celebrated the births of both Jaker the Baker and T-slizzle tonight. Mom was assigned to cake duty and I was so glad because yesterday was nuts! Dad and Ricki have this special little bond. Ricki loves her "Papa" and I think Papa is a little crazy about her too! :)

Aug 14 - 20

Monday, August 14 - Sorry that you have to see my nasty teeth but this was an exciting day for me! I went to a consultation with our Orthodontist to find out how much it would cost for braces. I was truly hoping against hope for Invisalign but figured it would be far out of our price range. However, because the only teeth I really need to have moved are in the very front, I can do a program called "Invisalign Lite" and it will only cost an extra $400 over normal braces! Considering it could knock up to 6 months off the amount of time needed AND I don't have to wear braces you can see, that seems like a steal! Plus, they were less expensive than we thought they would be so I am doing it! Yay!!! I've wanted to fix my teeth since before we had Nick!

Tuesday, August 15 - We are so proud of our boy Nick. He earned his Arrow of Light back in March but we had to wait until the next Arrow of Light ceremony which happened to be tonight. He is doing so well in scouting and we couldn't be happier with the young man he's turning into.

Wednesday, August 16 - I stayed up kind of late getting Zack's spotlight poster done for school. Since his birthday is during the summer, I should be prepared from now on to have him be the spotlight student every year during the first week of school!

Thursday, August 17 - Katie and Kenny are going on their honeymoon (3 months after the big day)! Katie wanted some fun cruise nails so I encouraged her to do anchors. She chose white, blue, and gold and we got started. I loved getting to sit and visit with her for a couple of hours and I think her nails turned out fun! :)

Friday, August 18 - This morning, I took Ricki to her preschool orientation day. She is SO excited to start school! She just has to wait the weekend and Monday and then school starts at 9:00am Tuesday! Tonight, we went to the Bee's game with the MACU Lending Department. It was extra fun watching the game with Nick since he's playing ball right now. It was a fun family outing...plus it included dinner! Double-score!!

Saturday, August 19 - I am kind of mad at myself for not taking more pictures but check out my awesome face bug bite! Dad reserved the Stairs Energy Park up Big Cottonwood Canyon again for the day. The Pearson family represented! All of our Pearson clan came and hung out for the day. For some reason, the mosquitoes loved me and I had tons of bug bites! Simon saved the day when he drove down the canyon to buy bug spray. It was too late for me but it saved everyone else! It was a very fun day and I enjoyed having some uninterrupted time to play catch and baseball with Nick.

Sunday, August 20 - We had dinner at the Pearson's and Zack couldn't wait to hold his precious cousin. Oh, those cheeks! I just can't get enough!!

Aug 7 - 13

Monday, August 7 - We hit the houses again today! Jenni loves the saying on this sign so she wanted a picture in front of it. Funny enough, I loved this house too!

Tuesday, August 8 - 14 years today! Wow, how things have changed! :)

Wednesday, August 9 - These kids are sure enjoying their birthday gifts from the Pearson's. Plus, they've already mapped out their lives...a chef and a fireman!

Thursday, August 10 - Nick has been begging me to take him to a Parade home so today after school, we made time. He loved looking through the house! I had to keep reminding him not to touch things...but it wasn't much different than taking Simon! Haha!

Friday, August 11 - I have been working on some craft projects. First of all, I accidentally sold a wedding decoration to someone on KSL after my mom had already sold it to a neighbor. Oops! So I made another one and it was surprisingly quick and easy! I have also been working on these pink vintage jars for Ricki's room. I need to do some decorating on these shelves she has in her room so one down, one to go!

Saturday, August 12 - I promised Nick a Slurpee if he hit the ball in a game. Today, they had a scrimmage game against another team and Nick had a great hit in the first inning. Even though it wasn't an "actual game", he was way excited so I couldn't help stop and stay good to my promise! I told him I would still honor one more during the regular season.

Sunday, August 13 - We had a home day after church because my parents are on vacation. They are just finishing an amazing trip to Portland, Seattle, and Victoria. They were able to meet up with Angie in Seattle and here they are at the top of the Space Needle. :)

Jul 31 - Aug 6

Monday, July 31 - Yay for Parade of Homes time!! Mom, Jenni, and I went from about noon until 5:00 pm and went to over a dozen houses. We got some great ideas (which I'm sure Simon will be THRILLED about!) and some inspiration. But most of all, it was great spending time with my favorite ladies!

Tuesday, August 1 - Notice something different? I needed a change so I got banged. Haha! :)

Wednesday, August 2 - I took my sweet little ones for our last summer movie this year. We saw a really cute show called "Ratchet and Clank". It makes me sad that summer is coming to an end but I do look forward to having some time at home again and for my kids to advance in their learning. At least that's what I keep telling myself! :)

Thursday, August 3 - Zack's first day of Kindergarten! How cool is he with his Lego Batman shirt and backpack? He was so excited to go and he came home with a full recap of his day. So proud of my little man. He was so brave! Tonight, we did a girls dessert night at The Cheesecake Factory. Everyone laughed at me for coming since I hate cream cheese but honestly, I wasn't complaining with my triple chocolate cake! YUM!

Friday, August 4 - We had some visitors tonight so that their mommy and daddy could go on a real-live date! (That means without anyone, including a sweet 3-month-old in tow.) My kids and I just can't get enough of Ruby! She is a happy baby with the most precious smile I've ever seen. Henry couldn't be cuter with her either. He was such a good boy and so helpful! We love, love, LOVE cousin time!!

Saturday, August 5 - Simon and I went out of town to celebrate our 14-year anniversary! Wow, where did 14 years go? I am much more in love with this man now than I was when I said "I do". After 3 homes, 4 kids, 1 dog, and over 5,000 days together, we are stronger than ever! We started out our weekend adventure by buying Simon a ticket to the Parade of Homes. After going through several homes, and posing in various future blackmailing ways, we checked into our hotel downtown and went to Olive Garden for dinner. It has been so nice to be alone for a while and get to talk. Happy anniversary to the love of my lilfe!

Sunday, August 6 - Gary & Alexis were so sweet to watch our kids for us overnight! And to top it off, Alexis made birthday peach pie and chocolate chip cookies to celebrate Zack, Ricki, Ryan, and Simon's birthdays! It was nice to be together as a family. Especially after a relaxing couple of days!
