May 21 - 27

Monday, May 21 - Nick is doing such a great job of taking care of his tomato plant that mom gave him for his birthday. He's such a great kid! He is super excited to grow and enjoy his own tomatoes.

Tuesday, May 22 - Between being off track and field trips, we finally made it to Nick's birthday table this month! It was extra fun because it was also Parker and Max's birthday table day.

Wednesday, May 23 - For young women's tonight, we had a Polynesian dancer come and teach us some authentic island dances. This is in preparation for our upcoming Girl's Camp where our theme is "Moana". The girls (and I) had so much fun! We learned a fun thing called the Hauka which we will use in our skit for the first day of camp.

Thursday, May 24 - These cute BFF's tried out together for the cheer team at Project Dance. Hopefully they are on the same team together so that they can have a super fun season. :)

Friday, May 25 - Ricki is a first-year preschool graduate! It was extra fun because Simon took the day off so that as soon as the kids got out of school we could go to Bear Lake. Because of that, he was able to come to the graduation with us. We made it to Bear Lake and met up with my family around 4:00. We haven't been to Bear Lake for a couple of years so we were so excited to get here.

Saturday, May 26 - Hometown Drive-in...one of our favorite Bear Lake traditions! It's expensive and so much food but lots of fun (and yummy)!

Sunday, May 27 - We couldn't believe how busy the Minnetonka Cave was today but we ventured up and went on the tour. It was so funny, as we were standing there waiting, Kat Tyler Fretz walked up! Apparently, she and Ryan moved back to Utah from Portland last year and now her parents own a house in Garden City right near Bear Lake. It was fun visiting and catching up with her.

May 14 - 20

Monday, May 14 - My cute friends threw we a movie party! We saw "Life of the Party" and it was hilarious!! Love my gals!

Tuesday, May 15 - I thought that maybe by the time I turned 34 I wouldn't love my birthday so much. But NOPE! Still do!!! :) Simon and the kids surprised me first thing this morning with the best gift - a steam mop! Yay!!! Then this afternoon, mom met me at Smith's Marketplace in West Jordan to buy flowers and vegetables for my garden this year. She also bought my family dinner so that I didn't have to cook on my birthday. This day each year never does disappoint!

Wednesday, May 16 - Mom gave Ricki this cute motorized scooter on Sunday (her neighbor had given it to her). When we got home from school, Nick said there was a snake in our garage. Honestly, I thought he was joking because I already had a snake scare on Monday in the garden! But nope, we found this baby snake in the scooter. Nick and Simon coaxed it out when he got home from work. YUCK!

Thursday, May 17 - Today was Kaleidoscope Day at Kindergarten. The moms went to school with the kids, did some activities to make sure they were ready for first grade, then had lunch in the cafeteria to make sure the kids know how to go through the line and get their lunch when they start eating lunch at school next year. I can't believe my boy is almost in first grade!

Friday, May 18 - The man bun! Haha! Simon is busy working constantly in the basement. We are ready to get it done!! :) He's working now on electrical then once that is done, insulation then sheet rock. Can't wait!

Saturday, May 19 - Baseball in the morning, baseball in the evening, baseball at suppertime. When two boys are in baseball, we do baseball all the time!

Sunday, May 20 - It's my happy day! We got together at my parent's to celebrate. My mom made me this super cute cake! Kendra and I stuck gems from my gifts to my face if you're wondering what is stuck on my face! :)

May 7 - 13

Monday, May 7 - There is constantly construction happening around us but this one took me by surprise. Our neighbors that live in the circle adjacent to us are putting in a second garage that is literally bigger than my house! Craziness!

Tuesday, May 8 - I found these cute jammies at Sam's Club so I was just going to grab one for Ricki since she's lacking in summer PJ's. However, I just couldn't resist when I found the exact same ones in Kendra's size! Good thing they were at Sam's Club...I didn't pay an arm and a leg for them.

Wednesday, May 9 - Tonight was a special event for me. Jenni came and spoke to our youth about her experiences. We had a dinner in which we gave each youth a special challenge (blindfold, tied arms up, noise cancelling headphones, etc) and made them eat with that challenge. Then, Jenni spoke about being a normal kid and teenager until her life was flipped upside down. She also talked a little about Jake and what he has now been through. The kids were so focused on what she was saying and attentive. I think it really hit a lot of them and made them think. This was a great night and a great activity thanks to my sister and the Spirit!

Thursday, May 10 - I guess it is field trip season at school! I went with Zack today to Wheeler Farm for a field trip. It wasn't my favorite field trip ever but it was so much fun being with this boy and his friends!

Friday, May 11 - I texted Kendra and asked if she was doing good since I hadn't seen her for many hours except for right after school. This was the text I got back in response. I love that she and Savannah are such good friends and that they spend time together just being kids!

Saturday, May 12 - Oh my gosh, I've looked at the top picture of Nick at Parker's birthday party a million times but never realized the yellow marks on the floor were the outline of a body! Haha! It was a murder mystery party and Nick had so much fun! Tonight, we got together with the Merrill's for a much overdue dinner & movie date. I'm glad that even though we moved and even though we are Ute fans, we have stayed in touch and remained friends.

Sunday, May 13 - Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful and influential mothers in my life. The list of mothers that have shaped me could go on for days but I am especially grateful for my mom, for Simon's mom, and for the opportunity that I have been given in this life to be a mom.

Apr 30 - May 6

Monday, April 30 - Sorry for the baseball overload but this is our life right now. I just love bite-size baseball. I think mini baseball players are the cutest ever!!

Tuesday, May 1 - I went with Kendra on a field trip to the John Hutchings Museum in Lehi. It was actually really interesting! It was all about Utah and how our state came to be. I enjoyed this time with her and learned quite a bit along the way.

Wednesday, May 2 - Simon has wanted a new lawn mower for a couple of years now. They were running a really good sale this week on them so he stopped at Home Depot on the way home and picked this one up. He's so excited! He said this could be his birthday and Christmas present! :)

Thursday, May 3 - This cute boy got the game ball because he played so great tonight! He's a good little ball player!

Friday, May 4 - Today was an absolutely crazy day! I spent the morning prepping for Kendra's birthday party. She had these fun gals over for her "paint party". We painted an owl that she chose. It ended at 4:00 then Jen Moon picked me up at 4:30 to go to her family's cabin up near Park City. We had a fun, wild, and crazy evening playing games, talking, and laughing until tears rolled down our cheeks and our abs hurt! So much fun!!!

Saturday, May 5 - A few of us ladies got up and went for a hike this morning. We climbed on the top of a water tower and had the most amazing views. We also jumped for a picture about 30 times! :) On the way down, Marisa, Jessie, and I stopped at the outlets in Park City. We had fun shopping! My plan was to not spend much money but alas, I bought me several new things. Love my girl-time!!!

Sunday, May 6 - Savannah Erickson gave Kendra these super cute jammies for her birthday. She has a matching pair so now they can be matchy-matchy in their sleepwear! :)
