Sep 21 - 27

Monday, September 21 - Kendra got a new phone with a fancy new phone plan! :) I have been pushing to get her a phone plan because it just makes me so nervous that she's so far from home at her new school. Simon found a plan that we could get a free phone and add a line with unlimited data for only $30 more per month so we signed up. Yay for fun new toys!

Tuesday, September 22 - Poor little Kendra texted me from school this morning and said that her tummy was really hurting her. She spent some time in the office before she finally asked me to come get her. I was able to pick her up around 11:30 and get her an appointment with Dr. Crowell at 1:15. Come to find out, thanks to an x-ray, she is all backed up and needs a 3-day clean-out. That fun will start on Thursday so she has that to look forward to. Haha! Nick has needed a haircut for weeks so it finally happened tonight. He and Simon thought they were funny when they told me that they were going to leave his hair in this awful mohawk! Ummm, no! I don't care if they're "back in". NO!

Wednesday, September 23 - Tonight after Simon got off work, we went to Kendra's school and all got our flu shots. Everyone (but Ricki) did great! :) Afterward, Kendra and I went to the Splash Park for Young Women's. We played Minute to Win It games and it was so fun! The first game here was that they had to eat a fruit by the foot as quickly as they could without touching it with their hands. Brycelynn definitely won that by a long-shot! We played lots of games but I had to get my hands on the cup stacking game. It was really fun! Sadly, while we were here, Simon called with the news that Kendra's principal called and said that she sat next to someone at school that tested positive for Covid so she will be quarantined from tomorrow until October 7th. :( She was not happy about this news!

Thursday, September 24 - I got a cute new shirt!! I don't know why we waited until the middle of dinner to take a picture of it but here it is. My cute new fall/pumpkin shirt from Indigo and Sage. :)

Friday, September 25 - Ricki went to Bridget's and spent basically the entire afternoon there. In fact, we had a soccer game tonight so she stayed so long that they just brought her to the game. :) They even did some Friday schoolwork together which rocked for me cuz there was less to do when she came hom! Zacky scored two goals at his game and cute Dave gives him $1 per goal so he's loaded! These games are so fun and quickly coming to an end so we are soaking them all in.

Saturday, September 26 - Meg, Jenni, and I got a group of ladies together to do another Citrus Pear class. I brought Nick too because Katie was on-call and worried about getting called out and needing Nick to fill in her place. I got to stand next to Ashely and Katie so that was fun being surrounded by my sisters-in-law. It is always a fun evening hanging out with the girls, laughing and talking, and getting so much done in those two hours!

Sunday, September 27 - My family got together to celebrate Kenny's birthday again but unfortunately because of Kendra's quarantine, we were cordially uninvited to attend Sunday dinner. We put a Citrus Pear roast in the crock pot this morning, had at-home church, and enjoyed a relaxing day at home together. It was actually really nice just being home but we did miss seeing everyone.

Sep 14 - 20

Monday, September 14 - Our Young Women's group is doing a "secret sister" activity. This is what Kendra's cute secret sister did for her. She loved it!!

Tuesday, September 15 - I always tell Simon that he encroaches on my side of the bed and I don't think he really believes me. Well, I came to bed after him tonight and took a picture for proof. Do you see how much room there is behind him? On "his" side of the bed? Now...where am I supposed to sleep? Haha, busted!

Wednesday, September 16 - Girls trip is here!! Wahoo!! We hit the road around 4:00 pm and drove straight to Bear Lake. After we got our keys and checked in, we ran to Le Beau's for burgers, fries, and shakes. Yum! We decided to play a few rounds of cards and all three of us ended up in tears laughing so hard! Girls trip is really good for my soul!

Thursday, September 17 - Today was so so so much fun! Mom rented a 3-seater watercraft for an hour. We went for a big long ride but it was pretty cold out on on the beautiful blue water! We only lasted about 45 minutes before we headed back and turned the watercraft back in. :) We took our Tommy Bahama chairs down to the water front and just relaxed, talked, snoozed a little, and drank Diet Coke together. After we made yummy homemade tomato soup together, we went to the pool and had the place to ourselves! This is the best vacation ever!

Friday, September 18 - Happy 30th birthday to my baby brother! Hope Kenny had a great day! Us girls sure did!! I had a migraine last night so mom and Jenni let me sleep in. Because of that, we just had yogurt/cereal for breakfast. When we got hungry in the afternoon, we got in the car and started driving. We passed all of our usual places and just kind of kept driving. Up near the North Shore, we turned around and stopped at a little yard sale we found by the side of the road. We had never been to the restaurant we stopped at but it was amazing! We got the lunch special which was $5 for a cheeseburger, the best fries ever, and a drink! At La Beau's, it's $7 just for a cheeseburger and much more for a drink and fries!! It was called Bear Trapper and we will for sure be going back there again! Dinner at Bear Lake just wasn't the same without a shake so we still found ourselves over at La Beau's for some yummy ice cream!

Saturday, September 20 - Why does time go by so darn fast?!? We were originally supposed to leave for Bear Lake on Thursday and come home Sunday but Jenni was called as Relief Society President about a week ago and she will be called and sustained in Sacrament meeting tomorrow so we decided to come  up on Wednesday and came home tonight. We stayed and enjoyed the time at the condo there in Bear Lake and left to head home around 6:00. What a wonderful girls trip! Seriously, it was the best time!! Now, I'll have to start counting down the days until we go again!

Sunday, September 20 - Tonight, we went to Dave & Viv's for dinner. It was just our family, which was different but fun to get to just visit with them. The kids kept asking to go to the park so Viv gave in and took all four of them to the neighborhood park around the corner from them. After about 10 minutes, Viv came back with Ricki in hand. Apparently, she was laughing so hard that she had an accident. :) So Viv let her borrow a shirt and she came home to take a bath. :) It was a good night with or without the accident. :)

Sep 7 - 13

Monday, September 7 - Kendra got a mosquito bite on her side at the park last night. She gets so darn swollen, it makes me nervous. I asked her allergy doctor about this and he said that she will be fine but next time to give her Benadryl before she's at risk of being bitten.

Tuesday, September 8 - We had our first Presidency Meeting with the new presidency today. It went really well and we did a lot of training and discussed a lot with these girls. They are such a cute new group taking over from our last presidency!

Wednesday, September 9 - I used a barrel crimping iron on Ricki's hair today and...is it appropriate to have hair jealousy of my 6-year-old's hair? :)

Thursday, September 10 - I had a neuro appointment this morning at Granger Medical in West Valley so afterward, I stopped and had lunch with my cute grandparents. We always have a really great visit. I was sad I had to cut it short to go pick up junior high carpool but it was so nice to spend this time with them!

Friday, September 11 - Happy Patriot's Day! It's always a strange feeling to reminisce about where I was and what I was during on 9/11/2001. I am so grateful for the fire fighters and police officers that protect us and keep us safe. Tonight, I baked 60 cupcakes and decorated them for Kenny's special party tomorrow. I also spent some time making him an "ATM cake" that dispenses money! :) I'm thankful I got to do this for him!

Saturday, September 12 - Our family went up to the Stairs Picnic Area early in the afternoon to get set up for a surprise 30th birthday party for Kenny. It was so much fun doing a fishing theme for him and writing down our 30 favorite things for him. It was a wonderful day and a great way to celebrate this "little" brother of mine! Happy 30th Ken!

Sunday, September 13 - During our Young Women's presidency meeting today, I was asked to come prepared with a spiritual thought. I talked about how my grandparents, mom, and sister are always sharing their testimonies with me by sharing experiences with me that tie to their testimonies. In the way that they are examples to me, we, as leaders, need to be examples to our impressionable girls in our classes. I was thankful that this thought kept coming to me because it helped to build my testimony.

Aug 31 - Sep 6

Monday, August 31 - I had the opportunity of taking Grandma Howard to a doctor appointment today. We stopped first at Marie Calendar's for lunch then headed over to a geriatric specialist at St. Mark's Hospital across the street. Unfortunately, Grandma isn't in very good shape and they confirmed today that her kidneys are failing and she is in early-stages of Alzheimer's. Poor little lady. :(

Tuesday, September 1 - My mom came over today to get her nails done. We weren't planning on doing her toes too but we did both so they matched. They actually turned out really cute!

Wednesday, September 2 - I have been asking Simon to please put an over-the-toilet cupboard in the kids' bathroom downstairs so he and Nick surprised me today and put one in. I really love it and am glad it is done. Now...to finish the kitchen...

Thursday, September 3 - Yay! Bunco Night!! I got to have a yummy salad dinner with my best friend, mom, and "other mom" Celeste before we played bunco. It was such a great evening and I am always so glad I get these social interactions with my friends and family.

Friday, September 4 - I had to get two fillings done today so I took this picture so my sister could see my lovely "surgery face". Haha!

Saturday, September 5 - Liz took Marisa, our seamstress Jen, and I to Lagoon today for a fun work day off. :) We had a super fun time and did all of the rides that we could have wanted. Things got cut a little tiny bit short when Jen got sick on the Colossus and Liz got super hurt on the Wild Mouse ride. It was a great day until that happened but luckily, we had gone on everything we wanted to more than once. :)

Sunday, September 6 - Jenni and BJ decided to spend the Labor Day weekend camping at Willow Park in Lehi. We thought about going with them but decided instead to visit on Sunday with the rest of our family. We had a yummy chicken and potato Dutch oven dinner and stayed until well after dark visiting and roasting marshmallows. It was the perfect ending to a good week!
