Sep 20 - 26

Monday, September 20 - Simon has been trying to figure out how to make our front porch get less water when it rains. He asked me to come out and look at it too and I pointed out that almost half of our entire house's roof drains in this one single downspout. He took these pictures to try to figure out a better way for draining water from the roof. I know he will come up with something good. This is the perfect project for him!

Tuesday, September 21 - Liz stocked my mini-fridge with Diet Coke! I had to document that because...well...it's awesome! :)

Wednesday, September 22 - This awesome kid received the first Leader of the Month award for this school year for his class. His teacher called me and let me know what an awesome leader he is and how great he does in school. (Note: This actually happened on the 23rd but I wanted it to have its own place in my blog. Also, I wasn't there, unfortunately, because I was on my girl's trip to St. George.) I couldn't be happier with how great this kid is!

Thursday, September 23 - Girl's trip with my main gals? YES PLEASE! Jenni, Meg, Marisa and I took off to head to St. George for the weekend. We stopped on the way down at the Creamery in Beaver. How have we never stopped her before?!?! The food was delicious and the ice cream was on point! We got in town in time to catch a Tuacahan play, "The Count of Monte Cristo". It was fabulous! Luckily, Marisa gave Jenni and I a rundown at lunch of the storyline so we knew a little about what was going on. I really think that helped us enjoy it more as we watched. This was the perfect day 1 to our trip!

Friday, September 24 - We didn't get moving too early today. We slept in and missed breakfast entirely so we ate lunch at 25th & Main, did some shopping (which was clearly very boring for me, haha), then ended up at Morty's for dinner. Such a great day with these ladies! We laughed, we cried...from laughing. It's just always a good time when we're together!

Saturday, September 25 - We had another fun St. George day! We went to Bob and Laura's to swim in their gorgeous pool, dressed up to go shopping and have dinner at one of our girl's trip faves, George's. Also tonight, Simon and Kendra went on a "date" to Simon's boss Tammy's wedding. They had a good time being together and spending that time together.

Sunday, September 26 - Final day of our fun trip! :( We had a yummy breakfast at The Crepery then hit the road. Jenni bought a Friends shirt when we shopping and she and Marisa twinned it up on the way home. :) Tonight, we were treated to a taco bar at the Howard's for dinner. Ummm, yum! What a great week! I love girl's trips!!

Sep 13 - 19

Monday, September 13 - Marisa, Meg, Jenni, and I signed up for another Citrus Pear class together. They are so fun and the meals are so yummy! I am excited to have them in my freezer for the upcoming colder months.

Tuesday, September 14 - Ricki has been begging to get her hair cut. She even told me that she would talk to Bestie about it on Sunday - silly girl! She got a foot (full 12") cut off and she looks so adorable! Plus, she got to visit with her bestie and even choose a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch. We love our Penney!

Wednesday, September 15 - I did Liz's nails today. She comes up with some ideas that I am not sure how they will turn out but then I end up loving them! I liked how these ended up looking.

Thursday, September 16 - We have a baby shark, again! If you look closely, Ricki is growing another tooth behind the second one from the middle on her left. She really needs to lose that baby tooth to give that poor permanent tooth room to grow in.

Friday, September 17 - Kendra asked if I could take her and her friends to lunch today because the junior high had the day off today. We went to Zupas and we had a very fun lunch visiting and hanging out together. It was fun being with my girl and her sweet friends!

Saturday, September 18 - This was a very fun day! David Butler, one of my favorite LDS speakers, came to our stake Women's Conference today. Jenni and Mom joined me and we had a blast listening to him talk about the scriptures, relate them to our day, and bring a fun new light on stories that we've heard a million times. It was a great morning! Then, this afternoon, we loaded Dave, Viv, and the kids up and went to Zack's soccer game in Cottonwood Heights. We won that game 4 - 2, wahoo!

Sunday, September 19 - Yesterday was my brother's 31st birthday. I sure do miss him and his sweet little family! He is working really hard to train so that he can compete in a physique competition in December and he is super ripped! I'm so proud of him and all he has become! 💗

Sep 6 - 12

Monday, September 6 - In honor of meeting Simon 22 years ago this day, I thought I would share this meme. It's so funny because my family does the bottom one ALL. THE. TIME! It is one of my biggest pet peeves! This meme definitely spoke to me!

Tuesday, September 7 - Cute Grandma Sharon came over today to teach me how to make cooked jam. It was so fun to be with her and fun to learn how to make jam without using Pectin, a preservative. Tonight, Kendra and Nick had the awesome opportunity to go to an Alex Boye concert. It is suicide prevention month and he is putting on a bunch of free concerts for youth to discourage teen suicide and foster awareness. Brenley and Kendra were able to go up to him and even take a selfie with him! So cool!

Wednesday, September 8 - I had my 6-month check up today. I need a root canal, which I was already aware of, plus I am ready to move forward with getting my implant. It's going to be expensive but worth it! Tonight, we had another women's shoot. This time it was just in Daybreak. I was the guardian of the clothing while Liz was taking the pictures. :)

Thursday, September 9 - Tonight was bunco but Aubrey Halterman invited us all over to swim in her pool before we started playing. Her pool is beautiful! We enjoyed sitting on the "sunning shelf" and visiting before we played. I didn't win anything, like usual. But it is always super fun to be with the ladies for the evening!

Friday, September 10 - Liz surprised me today with a mini fridge! Her plan is to keep it stocked with Diet Coke! I had no idea she was doing that!! I wore the perfect shirt for the surprise though!! Simon has been working hard on the yard and took out a tree in the corner and a bush in front of Ricki's window. I was sad about the bush. I actually really liked that. The tree was a mess though so it was a good call to take it out. Simon and Nick both worked a lot to get that stump out. It's looking good now!

Saturday, September 11 - First of all, today is the 20th anniversary of September 11 and all of the misery and unity that day brought. There has been a lot of talk about Sept 11 and how unified it made us as a country. This country that currently feels like it is falling apart. We also had a crazy fun and busy Saturday. We started out by going to Henry's soccer game in Orem. His team is really good! It was fun to watch him and fun to hold Livy on the sideline. :) While we were there, Kendra went to West Jordan with her Tiger Squad for the Hope Walk. She walked with her school through Veteran's Memorial Park in an effort to prevent suicide and raise awareness. This picture of Kendra is from South Hills Middle School's Instagram page. Later this afternoon, we met my whole family at Zack's soccer game in Riverton. The final score was 1-1 and Zack was the one that made the point for our team. Way to go Zack!! Tonight was the epic BYU vs. U of U football game. It was broadcast on ESPN, which we don't have, so we went to Jenni and BJ's to watch the game. BYU won for the first time in 12 years! It was a fun game to watch, even if the outcome was a little disappointing.

Sunday, September 12 - We did our annual Silver Lake dinner tonight. It was so peaceful and beautiful! I always love our walk around the lake, talking with the family, and taking pictures on the rock that we've lovingly named "engagement rock".

Aug 30 - Sep 5

Monday, August 30 - Another product of Nick being home during foods class, creamy garlic mashed potatoes. They were really good! I'm so glad he is learning how to make all of these things. They will sure come in handy in his future.

Tuesday, August 31 - I had lunch with Marcy Reno today at Roxberry Smoothie Co. and we talked about menu planning. It was fun being with her and visiting with her. She is sure a sweet lady. Tonight, mom came over and we did her toenails. She wanted brown on her big toe and chunky gold glitter on her little toes. They turned out SO cute! I may have to steal this idea for my own toes! :)

Wednesday, September 1 - Well, Kendra went back to school on Monday. I checked her out for an orthodontist appointment on Monday, this dermatology appointment for her warts today, and you will see tomorrow, she had some teeth extracted. Her school is going to think she never goes to school! Anyway, we saw Dr. Puttgen today about this lovely wart that keeps coming back. She froze it again and wants Kendra to put some ointment on it to hopefully take care of it. She will freeze it one more time if needed and then if it doesn't go away, she will cut it out. The problem with cutting it out is that she will be left with a scar and we want to avoid that if we can so we will try these other things first and use that as a last resort if needed.

Thursday, September 2 - Kendra's dentist had a cancellation this morning and she needed two teeth pulled so we took that appointment. She got a little goofy on the laughing gas but she handled it all like a champ and got both teeth out without a problem! Since most of the kids have had teeth pulled, we now have a tradition that they get a smoothie after their appointment. Not only did she get that special treatment but she also got to come to work with me for a little while. They suggested that I watch her for 30-60 minutes, just to make sure the bleeding stops before I send her to school. So she came to work and hung out for about an hour before I took her to school.

Friday, September 3 - We got to go see Trevan at his football game tonight! He played awesome!! Unfortunately, Riverton lost by only a couple of points but they played well and I was a proud auntie watching this kid out on the field. It was fun to be there watching him.

Saturday, September 4 - Kendra and I had a fun day today! We started out at Kneader's for breakfast, stopped at Swig on our way up, then went up to Midway for Swiss Days. It was so fun but SO crowded! We shopped until our feet hurt and we were tired of looking at things. We went or at least glanced at every single booth! It was fun seeing Alexis, Finley, Viv, Gary, Mrs. Crane, and the Keel family from our ward. Some of those were a surprise and some were planned. To top our great day off, our family went to Chili's for dinner. What a fun and special day spent with my girl!

Sunday, September 5 - How cute is Kayla girl in this hat that Kenny crocheted for her?!? First of all, she is darling! Second of all, kudos to my brother for being able to crochet a hat! :)
