Aug 22 - 28

Monday, August 22 - Today was a big nail day! I did Meg's nails (leopard) and mom's nails (polka dot). I love doing their nails because it gives me a bunch of uninterrupted time to talk to each person.

Tuesday, August 23 - I had to take Ricki to the doctor today because she has an infection under her eye. We wonder if she got a cut somehow and then it got infected but it also might be some sort of eczema. Dr. Crowell prescribed an antibiotic ointment that is safe for the eyes and we have to put it on 3 times daily for the next week. Hopefully it will get rid of it!

Wednesday, August 24 - Zack's activity days leaders, Bonnie and Larry Farnsworth, do such a great job with their activities. They shot off water bottle rockets today in their circle. The boys loved it!

Thursday, August 25 - Tonight we had book club and discussed this big old book, "Needful Things". The storyline was pretty good but I didn't love the book overall. That was the general consensus with everyone it seemed. It didn't matter though, we love getting together, chatting about the book, then talking for a long time about everything else.

Friday, August 26 - Jenni, Jen Davenport, and I went to lunch today so that I could introduce Jenni and Jen. They were instant friends! We were at Cafe Rio for almost 3 hours while they talked about each of their stories and what they've both been through. I am so thankful the Davenports moved in next door! They are awesome and it is exciting to feel so connected to them already!

Saturday, August 27 - It's soccer time! Our game this morning was at 10:00 am...in Park City! We left early then watched a nail-biting game. We were able to pull it off though and got the win 4-3. Hooray!

Sunday, August 28 - We had a fun dinner at the Pearson's tonight. My kids just absolutely love and adore little Livy. She was playing with Zack, feeding him invisible food, and laughing so hard at him. Then, Kendra took her outside and while Henry and Zack kicked a soccer ball around, she helped her learn how to ride her brand new Stride Right bike. So much Sunday fun!

Aug 15 - 21

Monday, August 15 - Today was Zack's first tournament game in Farmington. They won! Yay!!! Ricki was sitting on my lap, insisted on wearing my sunglasses, and wanted a selfie to see how she looked. She is so silly!

Tuesday, August 16 - It's our official last day of summer before school starts again! We started off bowling at the Delton Lanes in Riverton. Then, we went over to Scheel's and let the kids ride the Farris wheel before we stopped at Sam's Club to get an ice cream cup. It was a great day and I'm glad we were able to send summer out with a bang!

Wednesday, August 17 - Back to school for this kid! Nick is a Junior at Mountain Ridge High School and really enjoys school. He is taking a very high math class this year so I am excited to see how he does. Tonight, Nick and Wil made a poster to ask a friend to Homecoming (HOCO). He is asking Taya Byrge and super excited to go!

Thursday, August 18 - First day of 9th for Kendra, 5th for Zack, and 3rd for Ricki. How are my kiddos so old?!? I walked to the school with the kids to say goodbye to them and took pictures with their cute friends. :) Yay, back to school!

Friday, August 19 - I love moms that take pictures at the bus stop and send them to me! :) I have been wanting to do soccer tournament nails but haven't had a chance until today. Go Copper Mountain!!

Saturday, August 20 - Zack's last tournament game was this morning and unfortunately, we lost but that meant taking second place in the tournament for our division! Yay! They are such a great little team and learning so much together! Go Simon and Zack!!

Sunday, August 21 - Happy Sunday! Again...Ricki on my lap wanting a selfie! Haha! Poor Kendra was holding Ruby in Dave & Viv's basement and they went through the hole of the treadmill. Kendra stood up too soon and hit her back on the instrument board. She came up and asked me if it had left a mark; yep, it left a mark!

Aug 8 - 14

Monday, August 8 - Mom bought Zack this soccer bag for his birthday but she's been wanting to put his name on it. We were out and about today so we stopped and dropped it off to her embroider lady. I love how it turned out! This afternoon, the kids just wanted to hang out with their friends so Zack went with Jax, Oakley, and Skylar and Ricki went to Bridget's house. They had a blast and I love when they get to be with their friends!

Tuesday, August 9 - The four of us gals went to see "Where the Crawdads Sing". Everyone had read it except for Jenni and it was so fun to watch it with her knowing that she didn't know how it ended. :) I'm so glad I have these ladies in my corner. What a fun night!

Wednesday, August 10 - Funny story, we had planned on going to the Parade of Homes all day on Monday but after we had lunch and drove to the first house, we realized that the Parade is open Tuesday-Saturday...not Monday. So we re-scheduled our week so that we could go today. We hit several homes and loved every minute! These random ladies in our picture are some "friends" we met along the way. Every house that we went to, they were there. We started noticing and making jokes about it until we finally decided we needed a selfie of our fun group to remember it by! Haha!

Thursday, August 11 - Day 2 of Parade of Homes. This time, we met at mom's for lunch and she made us yummy pizza rolls. I loved them so much, I went home and made them for my family! We went to a bunch more houses and realized that whatever we didn't finish today, we probably wouldn't get to because Saturday was the last day. The houses were different this year. There were more remodels and lower priced homes than anything. It was interesting. In the meantime, Grandma & Jim took these four little girls downtown to shop at City Center and get them a new outfit for back to school. They had breakfast together, rode Trax downtown, shopped, had lunch, shopped, and then rode Trax back home where they had dinner, had a fashion show, made cookies, and had a sleepover at their house. These kids are so lucky not only to have four grandparents that love and adore them but also two great-grandparents that also dote over them! :) They had a blast!!

Friday, August 12 - It's official...check out our new purchase! Simon had mentioned to the Sivertson's that if they ever wanted to sell this quad that we would be interested. We're so glad that he remembered Simon saying that a few years ago and called last week to say that they were going to put it up for sale. We checked it out, talked about our finances, and found the money to buy it. We can't wait to go back to Fillmore to use it and enjoy it!

Saturday, August 13 - Best day ever! Ricki was baptized this morning. It was such a beautiful experience! We loved that she was surrounded by family and friends to witness such a perfect day in our sweet girl's life. After her baptism and confirmation, we had a brunch at a different church in our stake with everyone. It was perfect! After her baptism, Simon went downtown to play kickball in the Corporate Games. His team did awesome and they ended up winning second place! Go MACU!

Sunday, August 14 - Happy 18th birthday to Trevan TODAY! We got to celebrate him on his big day! We gave him a card with money, cuz what 18-year-old doesn't want that?!? I love this picture of Kendra and I! I just love her and am really loving being around her and seeing our relationship develop into more than it has been. She's such a great girl! The little girls spent a bunch of time in the fairy garden just playing. Love them! I think T had a great birthday and we all enjoyed being there with him!

Aug 1 - 7

Monday, August 1 - We have a busy week ahead so we decided to do our summer movie today. We keep promising the kids that we will go to lunch at Chick-Fil-A after the movie so we finally did that today. We were super excited that Nick came with us. The movie was "Hotel Transylvania 4" and we love those movies so it wasn't too hard to convince him to come with us.

Tuesday, August 2 - Nick left for Young Men's camp this morning and the kids were "so bored" so we decided to go on an adventure. We came up with a bunch of ideas but the weather wasn't great so we quickly nixed the idea of an outdoor activity. That lead us to the JL Sorensen Rec Center. They always want to go but we rarely do so we took the opportunity to go today. They had a blast and we stayed for over 3 hours!

Wednesday, August 3 - Zack started the next phase of his orthodontics. His bite is so much better, they were able to put braces on his top teeth to start to close the gap between his front two teeth. Tonight, the sunset was so beautiful! We have sure enjoyed some beautiful nights this summer. Now that our new neighbors have moved in, the kids go out every night and play night games until 10:30/11:00 pm. I simply love summer time!

Thursday, August 4 - Today was SO fun! Katie and the kids came into town just for today. Mom picked them up from the airport, went to Grandma & Jim's for a visit and lunch, met all of us at Cowabunga Bay for a few hours of water and fun, then finished off the night at my parent's house for dinner and visiting. Even though it wasn't even 24 hours, we loved every moment we got to spend with them! (But we did miss Kenny. Hopefully next time he can come too!)

Friday, August 5 - Meg, Marisa, Jenni, and I took all most of our kids bowling (dang oldest three boys). They had a blast and enjoyed two full games together. Then tonight, these cute kids all met up at Jax Burrow's house for night games and shenanigans. Have I mentioned I love summer?

Saturday, August 6 - Simon took a few hours and golfed 18 holes with some friends from our ward. I am so glad they were able to get him out, socialize, and do something active. Then later today, we had our ward summer picnic over at the splash park. The kids ran around and played hard after we enjoyed a yummy BBQ'ed dinner. Earlier, around 3:00, Ricki crashed on her bike. It didn't seem too bad but she laid on the couch for about an hour before getting up to help Kendra make cookies for tonight. After the ward party, all the neighborhood kids were out playing so I sat outside to watch them. Ricki came out from the house and said that she had just gone to the bathroom and it was bright red. At first, I didn't think too much about it but pretty quickly, Simon asked if that could be from her crash on her bike. She had complained that her stomach hurt where her handlebars went into her lower abdomen. We decided she needed some medical attention to make sure everything was okay so I took her to Cottonwood Urgent Care. They didn't really even see us before the doctor said that she needed to go to Primary's. If there was, in fact, internal bleeding, they would need her there. So off we went to Primary's. They rushed her back, checked her out, quickly got an IV in, and ordered a CT scan. Overall, they didn't find anything concerning so they sent us home around 2:00 am with instructions to check her stool for the next few times and make sure there is no more blood. Poor girl!

Sunday, August 7 - We celebrated Zack and Ricki today with the Pearson's. We had a good time and the kids liked running around and playing together. I am so glad we have this tradition each year!
