Nov 21 - 27

Monday, November 21 - We just found out that the shelter in place order that was sent out last night was for this man. His name is Alma Worthington. He is Richard Worthington's son. Richard is the one that created a hostage situation at the Women's Center at Alta View Hospital back in 2001 and eventually shot and killed a nurse there. Richard was also my Grandpa Lind's first cousin. This poor family! Alma did end up dying by police gunfire after a several-hour standoff in Herriman last night. So sad!

Tuesday, November 22 - Marisa gave us this countertop soft serve ice cream maker so we tried it out today. After Nick made a huge mess by dumping the liquid in without the rubber seal in it, he was able to make a successful batch. It produced enough ice cream for Nick, Kendra, and Ricki to have some. It's kind of a fun little gadget!

Wednesday, November 23 - My self-appointed assignment for Thanksgiving was pies. Zack wanted to help so he and I made two pumpkin, a banana cream, and a Dutch apple pie. It took several hours but we got it all done!

Thursday, November 24 - Best Thanksgiving Ever!! Kenny and Katie flew in this morning with the kids and made it in time for the big day. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner together, played games, and then surprised the little Howards with the news that we were all sleeping over! Slumber party at the Howard's!

Friday, November 25 - The day after Thanksgiving, we all woke up and made breakfast together. Mom had a few waffle irons and we all made as many waffles as we wanted. We went home for a couple of hours then the girls and I met back up with them at Texas Roadhouse for linner. Afterward, we all went back to mom's house for a while to hang out and say goodbye to Kenny. Katie is taking the kids home on Monday but Kenny leaves tomorrow morning and they were going to spend the remainder of his time with her family in Park City. It was hard to say goodbye, just like it always is. We had to get our sister-kissing-brother picture before they left. :)

Saturday, November 26 - Cute Katelynn Romero answered Nick for the dance. They will have so much fun! The kids and I worked on getting Christmas out...for most of the day. I asked them each to bring a few boxes up from the basement and one of the times, we heard Nick yell out. He had fallen up the stairs. Tonight, when I went to put my grandparents' nativity up, I found all of these broken pieces. He fell up the stairs with the most fragile box of Christmas decorations that we had. Through my tears, I glued the pieces back together the best I could and still put it out on my piano.

Sunday, November 27 - We had dinner with the Howard clan tonight because it's our last night with Katie and the kids. We played games and hung out until we had to peel ourselves away and go. It has been so nice to get to spend time with their family. We sure do love the Little Howard's!

Nov 14 - 20

Monday, November 14 - At indoor soccer practice tonight, the boys got a surprise pizza party and they got their medals for the fall season. They got first place for their division! Yay!! They had a blast at their party and then they got back down to business and did indoor practice. Go Copper Mountain!

Tuesday, November 15 - Viv came over this morning to get her nails done. She chose white tips with green polka dots and they turned out super cute. Tonight, I went to an opening meeting to join Liz's new bunco group. I am excited to get started.

Wednesday, November 16 - Simon sent me a picture of the yummy turkey dinner they served at his work cafeteria today so I sent him a picture of my lunch. :) I love our Cafe Rio dates most weeks (Jenni, Meg, Marisa & I).

Thursday, November 17 - Ricki got her dance costume yesterday so we tried it on tonight. Look how cute she is!!! Love my little gymnast/dancer!

Friday, November 18 - I was supposed to go to Time Out For Women with Jenni and Mom tonight but I wasn't feeling well. Like, at all! I decided there was no way that I could go sit there and be able to enjoy it. I called mom and she was able to get her friend, Kathy Taylor, to go in my place. It sounds like it was a really good session and I missed a panel that included Emily Belle Freeman (one of my faves). I was glad Kathy could go though. I would have been miserable.

Saturday, November 19 - I still wasn't feeling well but I managed to make it to Time Out For Women today. I was still pretty under the weather, sat on the very end all by myself, and wore a mask most of the time but otherwise, it was awesome! They did such a great job, as always. It is a helpful spiritual time to go and renew with other like-minded women. We went to Las Glorias for lunch and that was fun too. The spice helped clear out my sinuses. :)

Sunday, November 20 - I've still been pretty sick today. This cold is terrible!! It's going around though so I'm not surprised I ended up with it. Simon took Zack to the Primary's Priesthood and Temple Preview. I was supposed to be there as both his mom and for the Primary Presidency but I was just too sick. They said it went well. Kendra has had this robot baby all weekend. I had to babysit while she got in the shower, haha! I can't say I'm not thankful she takes it back to school tomorrow! Finally, my family went to Jenni's for dinner tonight and I stayed home. Simon sent me this text and asked if I got it too. It was a reverse-911 call telling Herriman residence to shelter in place because there was someone shooting outside. It was over by the Herriman City Hall though so it didn't effect me.

Nov 7 - 13

Monday, November 7 - I hate seeing this! A car flipped upside down in front of our church. I don't know how this can happen right where it's at but luckily, everyone was okay.

Tuesday, November 8 - Another day, another dollar. I work every Tuesday at Livy & Kate and today I experienced the joy of sorting through and counting a shipment of jewelry that came in. I'm still not in love with this job but hopefully it gets better as time goes on.

Wednesday, November 9 - My poor Ricki girl hasn't felt well today. :( She had a 24-hour bug and feels much better now. I spent the evening working on my gift tags for the Christmas tag exchange. The actual exchange isn't until next week but I've been trying to get them done early so I don't have to stress last-minute. I am working on them at the kitchen table because Ricki "needed" me in the same room with her.

Thursday, November 10 - I got the opportunity to go to the kids' school today to see their Veteran's Day Program. It was so good! So so sweet and touching! They have all the veterans in the audience stand up to be recognized and it's overwhelming the gratitude that we have for these soldiers. They truly sacrifice (or did sacrifice) so much to give us our freedoms so it touched my heart when they all stood. Thank you veterans! I am beyond thrilled to get my wedding ring back! I haven't wore it for a few years because it has been too small for my finger (it was a size 5). I finally took it in to get re-sized, figuring it would be very expensive. My dad's cousin, Susan, told me it would only be $110!! Are you kidding?!? I left it that day to be re-sized and got it back today. It is still as beautiful as the day Simon gave it to me.

Friday, November 11 - Very last-minute, I decided I wanted to get family pictures this year. I literally schedule them a week ago and asked Kendra to help me pull together outfits. We spent about 45 minutes going through everyone's closets and finding this arrangement of clothes. I LOVE how they came together and I love this sweet family of mine! Then, tonight, we were watching the news and this came up! I won a "Sterling Said It Would" umbrella! I am so excited! Now, to figure out how I collect my new umbrella.

Saturday, November 12 - Amie and Alex got box seat tickets to Disney on Ice from their work. They were supposed to bring Eva but her other parents wouldn't allow her to leave for a few hours to go do this so they invited Ricki and I to attend instead. It was so fun! Ricki loved it and had a blast! We were in a suite so we got free food and drinks too! It was the best time ever with my sweet girl and my awesome friends!
Okay, barf!! The last two nights I have been telling Simon that I think we have a mouse. I could hear scratching in my kitchen but I thought it was under the counter. We set traps with cheese and sticky traps and put them around the perimeter of the kitchen. We were sitting on the couch watching TV after the kids went to bed when we suddenly heard screeching. It was the darn mouse getting caught on the trap. It was in the pantry! The unfortunate thing is that they don't die on the trap so Simon had to hit it with a broom. Yuck! I am just glad he is caught and gone now! Mice gross me out SOOOOO much!

Sunday, November 13 -  We celebrated Dave's birthday tonight at Sunday dinner. Viv bought him some little pastries and muffins for dessert so we just went ahead and put a candle in that and sang to him. :) Happy birthday Dave!

Oct 31 - Nov 6

Monday, October 31 - Happy Halloween! Kendra and Payton wanted to take the kids around so Kendra dressed as a rhino, Zack as a hot dog, Ricki as Mal from Descendants, and Nick as a Christmas Chick-Fil-A worker. Haha! :) They had a good time going around the neighborhood and they collected SO much candy!

Tuesday, November 1 - I figured that since I set up Halloween decorations so late and didn't get very long to enjoy those, I would set up Thanksgiving decorations right away! I love the fall colors, even though I don't love fall as much as other seasons.

Wednesday, November 2 - I was at the store when Ricki needed to leave for gymnastics (we carpool with Marisa) so I asked Kendra if Ricki was ready to go. She sent me this picture of Ricki in her leotard and with her hair pulled back. She's such a good big sis!

Thursday, November 3 - Can you see this little racoon under that car? It was in our neighbor's front yard, going under the car and scavenging for food. Creepy that these guys hang out in our neighborhood!

Friday, November 4 - Kendra had a fun afternoon/evening. She went with her young women group to the temple to do baptisms, came home to shower, then they went back over to Jessie's house for a sleepover. Kendra had a blast and loved being there with Payton and Mailey! I'm glad they have these fun activities to go to that help solidify friendships and happy memories!

Saturday, November 5 - Kendra came home from her sleepover after they had breakfast and played a few more games. She said that her, Payton, and Mailey stayed up until 5am! She helped me in the kitchen with making applesauce with apples from our tree until she just couldn't handle it anymore and had to go lay down. Silly girl! Tonight, Nick was at work but the rest of us enjoyed Cafe Rio.

Sunday, November 6 - I know this is kind of a lame picture but today we set our clocks back for Daylight Savings. We also went to church, had tithing declaration, and went to the Howard's for dinner (they are FINALLY back from their forever-long cruise) but I didn't think to get even a single picture of any of those events! :)
