Feb 5 - 11

Monday, February 5 - Simon joined a co-ed soccer team with Mountain America. He's had a few games but it has been hard for me to go to any because they are always either right when I'm trying to get kids to bed or after they have already gone to bed. Tonight, however, his game was at 5:30. Wahoo! We called this family night and went and watched him play. It was fun to see him out there playing. I'm happy he's doing it...it's good for him!

Tuesday, February 6 - I can't believe this is happening but Kenny and Katie are just about to close on their first home together! It is in Eagle Mountain and it's adorable! Such a great house for this sweet little family! We went to lunch together at Kneader's and then all headed out to check out the new crib. I just couldn't be happier for them!!

Wednesday, February 7 - Jenni asked me a while ago to teach a cake decorating class for young women's. When I agreed to this, I didn't realize that it was her WHOLE YW! It was super fun though and I think the girls learned a few things and had a lot of fun too. I'm glad to have a talent or two that I can share. :)

Thursday, February 8 - As pretty much anyone that may read my blog would know, we haven't always had the best relationship with our neighbor to the South of us. However, things have gotten much better in the last year or so. You can imagine my surprise when the kids came home from school and informed me that the neighbor had a sign in their yard! I guess they finally just couldn't take any more of the Pearson's! :) Here's hoping we have a good family move in next door...preferably with 4 kids around ages 12, 9, 6, & 3. Ha!

Friday, February 9 - Well, the basement is coming along; even if it is a mell of a hess! The plumber has been coming and basically knocked two huge holes in the bathroom cement so that he could access the pipes under the toilet and bathtub. The tub should go in tomorrow! I can't believe it's really coming along like this!

Saturday, February 10 - Kendra, Ricki, and I got to go to the McCullough's house to enjoy a very fun birthday party for these two sweeties. We decorated tiaras, painted nails, played "pin the lips on the frog", and enjoyed cupcakes. It was a fun party! And as you can see, we had a repeat of it on Sunday.

Sunday, February 11 - We had a nice dinner and party for the girls with our family (yesterday was a friend party). I got to make the rose cupcakes, which was so fun! Happy birthday sweet Halle and Brielle. We love you so much!

Feb 29 - Jan 4

Monday, January 29 - Sometimes when you're watching YouTube tutorials on the laptop together, you just get tired!

Tuesday, January 30 - Nick was one of two kids selected from his class to participate in the school spelling bee. He did a good job! He made it through the first three rounds but then missed his word and had to sit down. I was proud of him for even trying and getting up in front of his peers to compete. Way to go Nick!

Wednesday, January 31 - Again, so proud of my boy and all he is doing. He received several awards at the Court of Honor tonight including his Tender Foot, First Class, and Second Class. He is eager and ready to continue in the scouting program toward his Eagle Scout. I'm also so thankful that Simon works with him and knows what he is doing!

Thursday, February 1 - Happy 7th birthday to this little darlin'! I know I say it all the time but I can't believe how quickly these kids are growing up!

Friday, February 2 - My sweet Kendra loves puzzles almost as much as I do. I had the card table set up for a different puzzle that I had been working on so she cleaned that one up and got out this Girl's Trip one. She was pretty excited that she was able to complete it on her own!

Saturday, February 3 - Amie's friend Stacey had tickets to the Utah Gymnastics Meet that she was unable to use so she asked if I would like to take the kids and go. Simon had Dave and the plumber coming over to work on the basement so I loaded the kids up, hopped on a Trax train, and took them. They had so much fun and they were so good to help make sure everyone was safe crossing the busy roads. This was a fun mommy-kid outing memory for all of us!

Sunday, February 4 - Are you ready for some football!?!?!?!!? We had our annual Super Bowl party at my parent's house. I would tell you who played and who won but honestly, I watched very little of the game. :)

Jan 22 - 28

Monday, January 22 - For family night, the kids love to watch home videos. Tonight, Ryan's mission call letter opening. So fun! One thing that I loved to watch was Nick and how he acted with baby Kendra. It reminded me a ton of Henry and Ruby.

Tuesday, January 23 - Simon kept getting notifications throughout the night that motion was being detected in our front yard. So he looked at the camera and found several images of about 8 deer in our yard! I love living in the "country". Haha :)

Wednesday, January 24 - I am so grateful for this presidency and for the role of the church in my life. I just couldn't do it without the gospel!

Thursday, January 25 - Zack and Ricki went to mom's house to be babysat for a while and these are the pictures I got. They sat and finished this puzzle together and had a good little conversation (while Ricki was down for a nap).

Friday, January 26 - I know I have pictures of the Mia Maid retreat but I seriously can't find them so I thought I'd post the invitation I made. We had a fun night at the Mortensen's and stayed up until 2 am for me, 4 am for Andrea! We love our girls!!

Saturday, January 27 - While I was sleeping in the warm comfort of the Mortensen's basement, Simon and Nick were in frigid temperatures at the Klondike camp out. Nick said that he slept really warm but Simon got a little cold. They had a blast though and I was super happy when they got home.

Sunday, January 28 - We had a once in a lifetime experience today! The Prophet - the President of our church - came to our Stake Conference!! It was amazing and he shared so many wonderful thoughts from his life as well as giving us advice to raise our kids in love and patience. It was so neat to be there for this!

Jan 15 - 21

Monday, January 15 - Our neighbor friends are out of school today so they invited us to the rec center to swim. They had lots of fun and I enjoyed catching up with the girls.

Tuesday, January 16 - I am *trying* to lose some weight...which has been difficult since having Ricki and getting my gallbladder removed. My first order of business is to stop eating breakfast cereal and replace it with green smoothies, yogurt and fresh fruit, and oatmeal. Here's to day one.

Wednesday, January 17 - Simon and I went out before YW to check out the showroom for Comfort Solutions and choose our new basement fireplace. We also found this bookshelf to use as an example for our theater room. It was fun to go see all of this.

Thursday, January 18 - We have SO many pictures of darling Ricki making a mustache out of her silverware. But could she be any cuter? I love how happy she always is.

Friday, January 19 - I have been pretty busy today working and getting things done around the house but I had to stop and get a picture of this. I love when the kids just play together happily. They were being so cute together.

Saturday, January 20 - My stupid piercing is infected! It hasn't really helped my headaches so I'm a little frustrated by this. I went back to the piercer today, he cleaned it out, and recommended an antibiotic. He said if that doesn't clear it up though, he recommends taking it out. Seriously?!?!

Sunday, January 21 - Nick gave a talk in Primary. I'm not sure if this is his very first one but if not, I can't remember the last one he gave! He needed this to pass off a merit badge. Tonight, we had dinner with the Pearson's and sweet Finley kept hanging out with me. She is so darn sweet!

Jan 8 - 14

Monday, January 8 - The kiddos are still off track since the Christmas break so Jenni invited Kendra over for a sleepover with her girls. I got this cute picture of her enjoying yogurt and fruit. :)

Tuesday, January 9 - The kids wanted to go to the movies again and see the new show "Cocoa". We went on a $5 Tuesday and sat in the luxury seats. It just wouldn't be a movie without Ricki sleeping on my lap most of the show.

Wednesday, January 10 - At YW tonight, we played "The Game of Life". I was in charge of the station where they put pantyhose on their heads and tried to knock down water bottles with a ball in the toe. It was hilarious!

Thursday, January 11 - Robyn Larsen asked me to help her make a baptism invitation for her daughter Sadie. This is what I came up with and she did seem to like it. I enjoy sharing my "talents" or really, my hobbies. :)

Friday, January 12 - Viv gave us a family membership to Thanksgiving Point so we took advantage of that today. The kids had a lot of fun at the Curiosity Museum.

Saturday, January 13 - It's long enough for a man-bun. Oh boy.................

Sunday, January 14 - We didn't make it out to Sunday dinner with the family tonight so you can imagine our surprise when the doorbell rang around 8:00. I went to the door with the kids but no one was there...just a gift bag on the porch. My daddy showed up with our Valentine's Day gifts...cute CC hats! I LOVE mine and have been wanting one so this was a wonderful surprise! Thanks daddy!

Jan 1 - 7

Monday, January 1 - Well, happy New Year's to us...we got a new TV for our room! It is fun to buy new things but even more fun when they have awesome post-Christmas sales!!

Tuesday, January 2 - This is what Simon (and Brother Keel from our ward) did downstairs while I was upstairs getting this (candy buckets) done. :) We're both getting lots accomplished!

Wednesday, January 3 - We had our annual New Beginnings activity for Young Women's tonight. It was fun and exciting - as you can tell by Bishop's awesome glasses and my glow stick necklace. We have a good time at YW!

Thursday, January 4 - The kids and I were out running errands and we stopped by the mall. They have a big Harry Potter display in the middle so we stopped so the kids could play Quidditch. I love having them off track!

Friday, January 5 - What a fun day celebrating this special girl! Katie graduated from nursing school today and we couldn't be more proud of her! Way to go Katie!!!

Saturday, January 6 - It just wouldn't be January without Dad's birthday brunch at Golden Corral! Look at all those kid grand-kiddos!

Sunday, January 7 - We celebrated Dad's birthday at Sunday dinner. Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my dear daddy!
