Jun 27 - Jul 3

Monday, June 27 - We went to a BBQ at the Howell's house tonight to say goodbye to the Nyholm family. They are moving this week to New Mexico. Zack and Chase are sad to see Anna go but hopefully they'll be able to stay in touch. The Nyholm's are renting out their house in hopes that someday they will come back here. Good luck Jenny, Erik, Jackson, Wyatt, and Anna! In other news, Jenni tested positive for Covid! We were together all day on Saturday and last night for dinner so here's hoping that none of the rest of us get it.

Tuesday, June 28 - Simon and Zack were driving home from soccer practice and saw a small brush fire by this lamp post. Simon called 911 since everything is so dry this year and small fires can easily turn into major ones in just a few minutes. Another guy pulled over too and used a blanket to stamp it out. The fire department came and said it looked like someone had intentionally started it. It could have easily spread and burned down a brand new apartment complex being built right there. Scary stuff!

Wednesday, June 29 - Today's summer movie was Paw Patrol and we brough Charlotte and Bridget with us this time. We were not planning on enjoying this movie but it's actually really cute! We all really liked it a lot!

Thursday, June 30 - Mountain View Village is opening the second phase of shops so they did a grand opening celebration today. The kids, minus Nick, came and we hung out there for a few hours. They had live music, grand opening giveaways and deals, and even a caricaturist to draw pictures of everyone. It was super fun and we stayed much longer than we thought we would. Nick met up with us at Cafe Rio and we all had lunch together. What a perfect summer day!

Friday, July 1 - I worked all morning and the kids wanted to do something fun. Last-minute, we packed up and headed to Cowabunga Bay. We tried to get Jenni and Mom to come with us but neither could. It was fun to be there for a few hours this afternoon.

Saturday, July 2 - It was finally time again for the Western Stampede Rodeo! We always love this fun tradition. This year, Nick had to work so Kendra brought Adrianna with his ticket. It was fun to have here there too. She's such a sweet girl! After the rodeo, we took the kids down memory lane by driving past our old house and through the old neighborhood. They each only barely remember it but it's fun to show them anyway.

Sunday, July 3 - We celebrated mom's birthday tonight at Grandma & Jim's. I knew I wanted to do something with donuts so I borrowed a mini donut maker to make this fun cake. It was a huge hit! The kids loved the mini donuts...and so did the parents. :)

Jun 20 - 26

Monday, June 20 - Nick's dinner request for this week was carne asada street tacos. I have never made them from scratch before so I was a little nervous but guess what, they were delicious! I'm so thankful for Google and being able to look up any recipe anytime! Sweet Ricki was not having anything to do with the street tacos so she had leftover crepes. She was a happy camper with her dinner!

Tuesday, June 21 - Ricki and I went to lunch with Grandma and Jim today. Jim looked over at her and told her to open her mouth. We took this picture because it looks like the baby is feeding her a cookie! Haha, we have fun with the grandparents!!

Wednesday, June 22 - Another summer movie for the books. Today's show was "Clifford the Big Red Dog". Ricki's friend Navy came with us too so that made it extra fun! This afternoon, Zack tromped around the neighborhood with his friends and ended up playing air hockey in the Ernest's driveway. Ricki had activity days and Officer Price came to teach them about police work. They loved being able to turn on and off the sirens and shouting over the bullhorn. :)

Thursday, June 23 - Kendra, Zack, Ricki, and I went to Cowabunga Bay...just the 4 of us! The kids ran around and  played while I sat and read a book on my iPad. It was perfect!! I enjoyed the down time so much!

Friday, June 24 - Happiest of birthdays to my baby girl! She turned 8 today and we had a party! A bunch of her friends and neighborhood kids came over and we played games, broke a pinata, and ate cupcakes! It was a great day and I think she had fun with her friends!

Saturday, June 25 - We started our day bright and early this morning by setting up and doing a yard sale. As usual, it was at Jenni & BJ's house and it was pretty successful! I got rid of most of my stuff and I didn't have that much stuff to get rid of. This afternoon, our family went to "linner" together then we came home to work on our new gazebo. We also got to meet our new neighbors. They are so great and I feel immediately connected to them. Jen Davenport, the mom, had a stroke and is paralyzed on half of her body. I couldn't believe it! She looks just like Jenni!! We have this immediate connection to each other and I can't wait to get to know her, Nick (dad), Payton (13-year-old daughter), and Andy (8-year-old son). They seem very sweet!

Sunday, June 26 - Amy is home!! Amy Mortensen is so so great and she is home from her Florida mission!! She did a great job on her homecoming talk and we went to her house afterward to visit and welcome her home. It was perfect! Tonight, we had dinner with the Howard family. All went well but we got this text from Jenni later. She stepped on a bolt that was sticking up on her cement in her backyard. I told her she needed a tetanus shot! Ouch!!

Jun 13 - 19

Monday, June 13 - I guess it was finally my turn to be sick! I had to call in sick - on my second day back to work. I was nauseous all day and can't believe I never threw up! I basically laid in my bed all day and all evening until bedtime. I didn't throw up but I didn't eat or drink anything either. What a fun day! :(

Tuesday, June 14 - "Mom, am I going cross-eyed? Quick, take a picture!" Haha, I love my silly girl.

Wednesday, June 15 - First thing this morning, I took Kendra over to the church to drop her off for Girl's Camp. They are going to the Hawes' family's cabin but the girls are camping out on their property in tents. So fun! Afterward, the other kids and I met Jenni, her girls, and Eliza at the West Jordan Library to celebrate their 10 year anniversary of opening. I can't believe it has been 10 years! I remember taking the kids (minus Ricki) over to the "new" library when it first opened and we lived across the street. :) After I worked a few hours, it was time for Zack to go to activity days. They went and hit a bucket of balls. Wow, what a day!

Thursday, June 16 - I had a bunch of errands to run around and do today and my sweet girl joined me. We had a good day together and even stopped to get a treat while we were out. Love my Rix!

Friday, June 17 - Finley had a birthday party today at her Grandpa Olson's house. He has a gorgeous home with a beautiful pool. These girls loved jumping in and swimming. I enjoyed some time without kids in Lindon while she was there. Tonight, Amie, Liz, and I went to dinner at Zupa's then went over to get a tour of Liz's new home in Riverton. Her new home is so nice and even better, close to my house! :) In fact, I had to call my sister when I saw her new address because it is only about two streets away. They aren't in the same ward but for sure the same stake and within walking distance of each other! It was such a great night!

Saturday, June 18 - Liz is doing a pop-up boutique right now so I worked there on Thursday night and when Kendra got home from Girl's Camp, she came with me today. She had a great time at camp! (No allergic reactions, thank heaven!) The morning session was pretty slow so at 10:00, I asked if I could go to a scrimmage game Zack was in at Copper Hills High School. Funny enough, both of my co-worker's kids were in the scrimmage too so I kept them updated on the progress of the game as well as sent them videos. I was glad I was able to be there and watch, even though we lost pretty bad. :)

Sunday, June 19 - Happy Father's Day to the dad's in my life! I love each of them and am so thankful for each of their roles in my life. I loved this picture of Kenny and Kam. Kenny is such a great dad and those kids are lucky to have him. My kids are lucky to have Simon too. This is a good life!

Jun 6 - 12

Monday, June 6 - Zack wanted to go over and see if Oakley could play so when we were coming home from running errands, I dropped him off. He was fully clothed when I sent him so I was a little concerned when I got this pic but he had a great time! :) That is dish soap on the tramp and in the pool! Haha!

Tuesday, June 7 - Poor girl still hasn't fully recovered from her stomach bug on Sunday. She loves laying on me and falling asleep like this and I'll be honest, I don't discourage it. I love the snuggles!

Wednesday, June 8 - We went to our first summer movie today! We saw "Mitchell's vs. The Machines". :) Jenni and her girls joined us too so afterward, Zack and Kendra went to their house and did crafts. They had a blast! I love this summer tradition. It's one of my favorite on-going traditions!

Thursday, June 9 - Zack got invited to Oakley Howell's swim birthday party. He had a blast with all of his friends doing this fun summer activity! Of course, that is him in the coconut bra and this picture got sent to all of those kids' moms. Oh boy! Silly kid!!

Friday, June 10 - Our first day at Cowabunga Bay! The kids and I got a season pass for Christmas and this is the first time we're using it. We also went with Jenni and her girls and it was so much fun!! We were glad to have this opportunity to go because at 3:00 am after we went, a building caught on fire and it is now closed for an undetermined amount of time. :(
Tonight, our family finally got to see the new "Top Gun: Maverick". It was SOOO good!! Ricki only saw about 1/3 of the movie before she zonked out but the rest of us really enjoyed it!

Saturday, June 11 - We had a primary activity over at the splash park today. We made missionary kits for missionaries serving from our ward. It was cute, we made care packages and then all the kids wrote them each a letter to put in the box. It was so fun! I think the kids had a good time!

Sunday, June 12 - It was Kendra and Zack's turn to be sick today. Luckily, it was stake conference and they are still broadcasting it so we watched from home. I stayed home with Zack and Kendra while the family went to dinner and then when they got home, we watched American Underdog. It was really good too! It's been a fun movie week!
