First of all, Happy Memorial Day! We chose to spend our day off working in the yard. We started around 8:30am. Simon ran to buy trees and flowers and I worked on the weeds in the backyard. The top picture is of a weed that was so tall and thick, it felt like pulling up a tree! We worked for about 11 hours and added 2 trees in the park strip, a new Blue Spruce in our side yard, 2 Cottonless Cottonwoods and 2 apple trees in the back. It was busy and back-breaking but we got it done and I'm excited to see the results as everything starts to grow and bloom.

I couldn't decide which pic I should use for today so I did both! The top is a wreath that Amie made me for my birthday. I FINALLY have a cute wreath to put on my front door!! (Thanks Ames!) The bottom is my cute baseball player with his completion certificate and trophy for playing t-ball this season. I loved watching him play! Baby sports are so darn cute!

I have been spending a lot of my time this week and last getting ready for tonight's fun event. I helped put on a combined Young Women activity that we called "Grandparents Night". The girls invited their grandparents for dinner then I talked about the importance of grandparents in family history work. We gave the girls a questionnaire and a My Family booklet to fill out and let them ask their grandparents questions about their past. It went better than I had even expected and it was so fun! I love being with the youth. They inspire me.

Happy Birthday Grandma Sharon! Jenni and I took Grandma to Olive Garden for her birthday but do you think I thought to snap a pic? Nope! Instead, I have this cute quote my sister gave me. Last Sunday, I was sitting in Relief Society and read a quote from the lesson that really hit me. Within probably 3 minutes of reading that, Jenni texted that exact quote to me. (Great minds, right!?!?) Today, she handed me an envelope and in it was a picture of the quote that both stood out to us. I have been wanting to replace the ugly picture I printed off the internet in my bathroom but didn't know what to put in its place. This quote worked out perfectly. It's super cute plus it gives you something to read in the bathroom! Win-win!

Zack, Ricki, and I took an adventure up to Cottonwood Heights to take a tour of Brian's fire station. I have been dying to get some pictures for Zack's empty frame in his room. It was so much cooler than I could have imagined! We got to look all through the fire trucks, ambulance, got a tour of their living quarters, and even took a ride with the fire fighters! I think it was more fun for me than Zacky! There are some definite perks to being related to a fire fighter!

What is your favorite night of the week? Mine is DATE NIGHT!!! Simon made arrangements to have Dave & Viv watch the kids so we could go out. We had dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse then went to the movies to see Furious 7. It was a good show but just so much fun to be out with my sweetheart!

Sunday, May 31
We went to my parent's house again this week to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We had a fun outdoor BBQ. I LOVE SUMMER!!! Amie was without kids this weekend so she came too. (Bonus-two weeks in a row!)
