Jun 19 - 25

Monday, June 19 - I haven't had an eye exam in...well, I don't even know how long! It went pretty well. I finally have a name for my stupid lazy eye - Refractive Amblyopia. Awesome! I can see well out of my right eye though and they may have me start wearing a contact in the left.

Tuesday, June 20 - Remember how my air conditioner went out in the Sienna van? Well, I couldn't handle it any longer so we started looking at newer vans. Here is my beautiful new ride! It is a 2014 Honda Odyssey with only 33,000 miles on it. There are so many fun features but my favorite of all is that the air conditioner works wonderfully!

Wednesday, June 21 - After our movie this morning, we met Jenni and Katie at the reservoir for some fun in the sun. Mom even came over to say hi after her job. She is the one that took this stunning picture of little Ricki. :) I love that we have this reservoir and that it's only 5 minutes from home!

Thursday, June 22 - We had a Relief Society activity at our house tonight. It was a food drive and friendshipping BBQ. My darling husband worked over a hot barbecue in 100° weather so that we could all enjoy Sprite chicken. It turned out great and I'm so glad we did it!

Friday, June 23 - We had dental appointments for all 4 kids! Once again, no cavities!! YAY! The only major problem is in Zack's mouth! He is causing problems with his top teeth and pallet by sucking his thumb. The dentist recommended the bitter fingernail polish to help him stop. It's time.

Saturday, June 24 - Happy 3rd birthday to my beautiful baby girl! For Ricki's birthday, we got to go watch Nick ride in the Herriman parade with his baseball team. After that, we headed over to the Bluffdale splash park for Finley's 1st birthday party. Sweet Vivien stopped at the dollar store and bought Ricki a bunch of things to open. When I ask Ricki what she wants for her birthday she says, "presents to open" so her birthday wish came true!

Sunday, June 25 - Nothing like celebrating a birthday a month late! With the wedding and everything going on in May and the beginning of June, we finally celebrated grandma's birthday today. She went on and on about the book wreaths at the wedding so I decided to make her a smaller version of that. I think she loves it! :)

Jun 12 - 18

Monday, June 12 - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!! Tonight was the last baseball game of the season (*sniff*) and we took first place in our division! It has been so much fun watching Nick play baseball and get to know this team. He has grown by leaps and bounds in so many respects this season and I am grateful he and I share a love of the game.

Tuesday, June 13 - Simon sent me with our van to the mechanic to see what is wrong with the dumb air conditioner. When I was driving on Thursday, it just suddenly started blowing nothing but hot air. Ever since then, we can only get the compressor to come on for the first two or three minutes but once the engine gets hot, it stops working. Simon kept apologizing for making me go to the shop so I texted him this picture and said "I brought my book and I have no kids with me...it's like an oil-smelling vacation!" Seriously, I was happy as a clam waiting for my car and reading my book! I was less happy when they told me it would be at least $1,500 to fix the problem!

Wednesday, June 14 - Jenni dropped Halle and Jake off at the theater to go to the movie with the kids and I. We watched "The Angry Birds Movie" and then went back to the McCullough's house and had lunch. I just love our summer traiditions!

Thursday, June 15 - Jenni called this morning and said that she wanted to take her kids to the new amazing Bluffdale splash park. We decided to forego Thanksgiving Point and meet her there. It seriously was so cool! We even ran into Adam who was there with a friend that works there. The kids had a blast! I had fun until I realized I slathered my kids with sunblock but forgot to put some on myself! I now have a lovely burn/tan line!

Friday, June 16 - Admittedly super jelly that our whole family is in Outer Banks, North Carolina on the beautiful beach right now! We had the opportunity to go but opted out due to the cost of flying our family across the country, we decided to pass this time. They had a great trip and we are so glad they were all able to go.

Saturday, June 17 - What a horrible thing this was! Yesterday, we had advent group at the church. While we were sitting there, Zack came in the room just screaming. I really thought he had broken a bone or something. He explained that he had fallen off of a table in the Primary room. At first, I was mad that he was on a table. I imagined him dancing or at least standing on it. However, come to find out, he was just sitting on it cross-legged playing with a toy. When he was going to get down, he leaned back to un-cross his legs and fell over backward, off the table, and onto the back of his head. He turned sheet white, complained of a headache, and was very sad and clingy to me but showed no other signs of distress so I took him home and watched him carefully for the rest of the day. I gave him ibuprofen right when we got home and then again before bed. At 5:30 am, he came into our room and was hysterical saying that his head hurt. Since Zack never ever wakes up in the night, we knew it was bad. I got up, got dressed, and took him to put him in the car. At that point, before he got in the car luckily, he started throwing up. From that time on, he threw up every 30 minutes, almost like clockwork. At the Riverton Emergency Room, the doctor did a full neurological exam. He didn't want to do a CT scan because of the radiation and how small he is. However, he confirmed that he had a concussion and said that he needed to lay down for 48 hours and not watch electronics. Killer! Thankfully they gave him an anti-nausea medication and ibuprofen. He felt much better by the time my parents came to see him and they walked us out to the car. I'm so glad my Zacky boy is okay!

Sunday, June 18 - Happy Father's Day to all the amazing fathers in my life! I am forever grateful for my grandpa's and the influence that they had on my life. I am thankful that Jim entered our family, that he takes such great care of grandma, and that he is such a wonderful grandpa to my kids. My dad and Dave are my heroes. They are amazing examples of hard work, love, and dedication to our family. And finally, Simon. What can I even say about the man that supports our family, loves us unconditionally, and gave me four beautiful children? I am so glad I get to spend all of eternity with him! I hope they all had a perfect Father's Day!

June 5 - 11

Monday, June 5 - This is an entire month of orders at all once! I ran a personal customer appreciation special and all the bars came. I actually really enjoy going through them all and bagging them up for my customers! :) My Scentsy happy place!

Tuesday, June 6 - Nick has been looking forward to going to Biz Town all year long. When I got the opportunity to go and volunteer, I took it! Luckily, Simon was able to work from home and be with Zack and Ricki so that I could spend the whole day downtown with Nick. It was a really fun day and I enjoy seeing this kid succeed in all the things he tries. Even though I wasn't a great college advocate, Nick did great in his job with KSL working with the media team. What a fun day with my boy!

Wednesday, June 7 - I can't believe another school year has come and gone. Today was the kids' last day of school. I can tell such a difference in a year. Especially in Kendra! I LOVE the summer with the kids and I can't wait to get started on summer of fun!

Thursday, June 8 - We had a busy day! Nothing like kicking off the first day of summer with a bunch of things to do! First, I took Marisa and her girls to lunch at Zupas to thank Marisa for all of the incredible work she did at the wedding. We just really couldn't have pulled it off without her! After we got home, Kendra and I headed over to the allergist's office for re-testing of her allergies. As you can see by the huge welts on her back, she is allergic to almost everything! Poor girl!! Tonight, after Simon got home, the girls and I went to see the new Wonder Woman movie to celebrate Jessie's birthday. Even thought it was kind of busy, it was a great day!

Friday, June 9 - Our first official summer outing...the splash park by the library. We met our friends over at the park and stayed to visit and relax for just a couple of hours. The kids were done when it got to be lunch time and they realized I didn't bring any snacks at all! :)

Saturday, June 10 - We started our day out at Kendra's and Zack's last soccer games of the season. I am thankful that Kendra's ankle felt good enough for her to play this final game. Zack's team was SO fun to watch and I enjoyed getting to be there with so many of our friends from the ward. Tonight, we had Kenny and Katie's second reception at my parent's house. It turned out nice and a ton of people came! Amie was our wedding guru at this reception and she spent her whole night refilling desserts and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was another great time celebrating this wonderful marriage and these two awesome people! I couldn't be happier! (And, I'm a little relieved that the wedding stress is now behind us. It was super fun but it's also nice to know it is done.)

Sunday, June 11 - We reconvened on Sunday at my parent's house to watch Kenny and Katie open their wedding gifts. It was super fun and I was even the scribe that wrote down the gift list. That was extra fun for me because I really paid attention to what they got and who gave it to them. :)

May 29 - Jun 4

Monday, May 29 - The Pearson's invited us over for a BBQ and water party for Memorial Day. We ended up having a big lunch out but we still went for water fun and snacked on some of the yummy food Ryan cooked up. These kids love their cousins and enjoy spending time with them.

Tuesday, May 30 - This is my life. Each night, I sit down and get out the Mod Podge, the glue gun, the straight cutter, the Harry Potter book pages...everything I need to get ready for this wedding! It is all coming together!!

Wednesday, May 31 - I watched Jenni's girls for a little while this morning which gave me the perfect opportunity to get their nails painted for the wedding. We did gel nails so they will still be super cute by Saturday. It's getting closer...

Thursday, June 1 - Marisa, being the awesome friend that she is, took Ricki for me for a few hours so that I could work on the cake and last-minute decorations. She took them to the splash pad and Ricki had so much fun with her BFF "Bidge". On the way home from dropping her off to Marisa, I noticed my neighbors across the street outside looking at something. When I went over, I was totally grossed out to find that a "nest" of gopher snakes were living under the Bustillos basketball hoop. Are you kidding?!? So gross!! Animal Services came right out and collected two of the three snakes. The third one, unfortunately, lost his head at the end of a shovel before Animal Control came. It was crazy watching them bag the snakes up and haul them off. So thankful that Bishop Sivertson was home and assisting with this. I could barely stomach watching it long enough to take pictures!

Friday, June 2 - I can't believe it is already cake making time!! I worked all day on Kenny and Katie's Harry Potter cake! The top picture was taken at home in the middle of the process. The left picture is a screen shot from Pinterest of what Katie wanted and the right is the finished product. I think (*hope*) they really liked it! It was an honor and privilege to get to do their cake!

Saturday, June 3 - The big day arrived!!!! Kenny and Katie's wedding was absolutely perfect! Everything went smoothly, a lot of guests came, Katie was a beautiful bride, and it just couldn't have been a more perfect day! This day will go in my books as one of the best days ever. A really fun part for me was to see my vision of their wedding come to life. Each individual idea I had was separate so to see them altogether, it was overwhelming. I was brought to tears more than once just thinking about the road that Kenny and Katie had to travel to get to this day. I am so grateful I got to be such a big part of their day and I can't wait to witness them spending the rest of their lives together! I love you KMH's!

Sunday, June 4 - This was just a weekend filled with magical days! First the wedding yesterday and then sweet baby Ruby's blessing today. Ryan did a beautiful job on her blessing and then we all went back to their house to celebrate and enjoy time together. I am so thankful for my family and everyone in it! Especially beautiful little Ruby!!
