Monday, June 12 - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!! Tonight was the last baseball game of the season (*sniff*) and we took first place in our division! It has been so much fun watching Nick play baseball and get to know this team. He has grown by leaps and bounds in so many respects this season and I am grateful he and I share a love of the game.
Tuesday, June 13 - Simon sent me with our van to the mechanic to see what is wrong with the dumb air conditioner. When I was driving on Thursday, it just suddenly started blowing nothing but hot air. Ever since then, we can only get the compressor to come on for the first two or three minutes but once the engine gets hot, it stops working. Simon kept apologizing for making me go to the shop so I texted him this picture and said "I brought my book and I have no kids with me...it's like an oil-smelling vacation!" Seriously, I was happy as a clam waiting for my car and reading my book! I was less happy when they told me it would be at least $1,500 to fix the problem!
Wednesday, June 14 - Jenni dropped Halle and Jake off at the theater to go to the movie with the kids and I. We watched "The Angry Birds Movie" and then went back to the McCullough's house and had lunch. I just love our summer traiditions!
Thursday, June 15 - Jenni called this morning and said that she wanted to take her kids to the new amazing Bluffdale splash park. We decided to forego Thanksgiving Point and meet her there. It seriously was so cool! We even ran into Adam who was there with a friend that works there. The kids had a blast! I had fun until I realized I slathered my kids with sunblock but forgot to put some on myself! I now have a lovely burn/tan line!
Friday, June 16 - Admittedly super jelly that our whole family is in Outer Banks, North Carolina on the beautiful beach right now! We had the opportunity to go but opted out due to the cost of flying our family across the country, we decided to pass this time. They had a great trip and we are so glad they were all able to go.
Saturday, June 17 - What a horrible thing this was! Yesterday, we had advent group at the church. While we were sitting there, Zack came in the room just screaming. I really thought he had broken a bone or something. He explained that he had fallen off of a table in the Primary room. At first, I was mad that he was on a table. I imagined him dancing or at least standing on it. However, come to find out, he was just sitting on it cross-legged playing with a toy. When he was going to get down, he leaned back to un-cross his legs and fell over backward, off the table, and onto the back of his head. He turned sheet white, complained of a headache, and was very sad and clingy to me but showed no other signs of distress so I took him home and watched him carefully for the rest of the day. I gave him ibuprofen right when we got home and then again before bed. At 5:30 am, he came into our room and was hysterical saying that his head hurt. Since Zack never ever wakes up in the night, we knew it was bad. I got up, got dressed, and took him to put him in the car. At that point, before he got in the car luckily, he started throwing up. From that time on, he threw up every 30 minutes, almost like clockwork. At the Riverton Emergency Room, the doctor did a full neurological exam. He didn't want to do a CT scan because of the radiation and how small he is. However, he confirmed that he had a concussion and said that he needed to lay down for 48 hours and not watch electronics. Killer! Thankfully they gave him an anti-nausea medication and ibuprofen. He felt much better by the time my parents came to see him and they walked us out to the car. I'm so glad my Zacky boy is okay!
Sunday, June 18 - Happy Father's Day to all the amazing fathers in my life! I am forever grateful for my grandpa's and the influence that they had on my life. I am thankful that Jim entered our family, that he takes such great care of grandma, and that he is such a wonderful grandpa to my kids. My dad and Dave are my heroes. They are amazing examples of hard work, love, and dedication to our family. And finally, Simon. What can I even say about the man that supports our family, loves us unconditionally, and gave me four beautiful children? I am so glad I get to spend all of eternity with him! I hope they all had a perfect Father's Day!
