Oct 22 - 28

Monday, October 22 - This has been a nightmare. The Jordan School District is proposing new boundaries for our elementary and our junior high. Tonight, our neighborhood hosted a District Board Meeting with a member of the  Board of Education at our church. It didn't go well and I think we will lose with what we want. It was a very frustrating meeting and I left early because I couldn't listen any longer.

Tuesday, October 23 - For book club this month, we read Memoirs of a Geisha. I actually listened to it but I enjoyed it a lot as an audio book. Tonight, we watched the movie at Tammy Mortensen's. I really liked it as well but I was glad I watched it with the girls.

Wednesday, October 24 - I had Scentsy errands to run so I called Gma and Jim and they met us at Chick-Fil-A in Jordan Landing. Kathleen, Ricki's Chick-Fil-A bestie, was playing with my kids and taking pictures. She's so stinking cute with them!

Thursday, October 25 - Jenni, Mom, and I headed out around 10:00 am for GIRL'S TRIP! (My favorite weekend of the year!) We didn't get too far at first...we stopped in Lehi at the donut shop and then ran in the cute party store next door. I think it was after 11:00 before we actually hit the road. An unusual thing happened on the way there. I was SO tired so I asked to sit in the back seat for the first half of the drive. I figured when they needed to potty, Jenni and I would switch and I would sit up front. However, I fell asleep before we even hit Provo and when I woke up, mom told me that we were "almost there". I think my response was "yah, right". But yah, she WAS right! We were only 22 miles outside of St. G. I slept the whole way there!! It was a super fast drive for me though! :)

Friday, October 26 - Luckily, Jenni had a little exchange to make at a shop in St. George (Twisted Silver) so we put it in our GPS and went. The shops were so cute! It was like a fun mini Gardener Village! We had fun looking through the adorable shops. We also went to dinner at The Pizza Factory and went to the temple. Unfortunately, I had a migraine (grrr! not on G.T.) so I asked if we could do initiatory work instead of a session. It was actually so enjoyable doing initiatories! I haven't done them in forever and I like to do them when I'm not with Simon (since we can't be in there together anyway). I was so glad that was what we did! And luckily, by the time we left the temple, my head felt much better and I was able to function throughout the evening. Instead of watching movies, like normal, we worked on our tags for card group. I just love sitting and visiting with my ultimate besties! I do wish Katie was with us but we had a great time.

Saturday, October 27 - I may have some issues. I went a little crazy shopping! :) We have so much fun on girl's trip! I wish it was more than once a year!!

Sunday, October 28 - I missed the kids' primary program today, which I was super sad about. However, I did make it home in enough time to go to Nick's Court of Honor. He wasn't due for a rank advancement yet but he did earn a ton of merit badges. I am so glad he is doing such great things in scouts. It will be interesting to see what program the church comes out with next year.

Oct 15 - 21

Monday, October 15 - Amie called and asked if we had plans tonight. Funny enough, Simon was helping a work buddy with some electrical work in his basement so I was home alone with the kids. We met her over at Herriman City Hall for the Halloween Festival. It was fun getting to hang out with Amie and her kids. We never get to see them anymore!

Tuesday, October 16 - Zack and Kendra have been hanging out with Chase and Anna a lot; especially since we are off track. I love when they are together and playing outside. It makes my mom heart happy to look out the window and see them running and playing together. In not-so-great news, our water heater went out tonight. Simon went downstairs to a puddle of water. Thankfully, it didn't get anything wet but the cement floor and a little on the pressure treated wood so we are lucky we caught it early. Add that to a list of your projects, babe. :)

Wednesday, October 17 - Simon had a crazy day! His department moved from the corporate office in Jordan Landing to the Tanner Building, which is located just behind the corporate office. He sent me this picture from his new office window. Then, he came home early so that he could get a jump start on installing the new water heater. Of course, he ran into a few problems and had to make another trip to Home Depot but he finished installing it right before 9:00 pm...which is when Bishopric meeting starts. Poor guy.

Thursday, October 18 - All of the kids are out of school for fall break so we met Jenni, Meg, and their kids at Chick-Fil-A. They are doing an awesome promo right now where with any purchase, you get a free entree. We took advantage and ate a super yummy breakfast for only $6! Plus, we got to hang out with our friends and cousins! Later this afternoon, we had Chase and Anna over. They were all obsessed with trying Zack's Halloween costume on. They each tried the whole outfit on and then they kept coming out with different pieces. In this picture, Anna is wearing the gloves, Zack is wearing the mask, and Chase is wearing the main body. Cute kiddos!

Friday, October 19 - We went to the Price's awesome Halloween party and it was SO. MUCH. FUN! We ate dinner, played games, and Simon and I WON the costume contest!!!! This is seriously one of my very favorite events each year and I am so thankful we were able to go!

Saturday, October 20 - It's our annual pumpkin patch day! We met the famdam at the Mabey's Pumpkin Patch. We picked out our pumpkins for the upcoming holiday and took lots of family pictures. Afterward, we all went over to Las Glorias for lunch, yum! Despite the cold weather, I do love October.

Sunday, October 21 - Our awesome Ministering Brothers came over to visit this afternoon. As we were talking, it came up that I have been wanting a drawer divider in my kitchen drawer to organize my spoons, spatulas, and ice cream scoops. About a half hour later, our doorbell rang and it was Hans bringing this wood divider over. He made it for me! Isn't he amazing?!?!? This makes me so happy!

Oct 8 - 14

Monday, October 8 - Simon had the day off for Columbus Day and I had a crazy idea. Instead of waiting until the basement is done with new flooring, I thought it was a good idea to clean out and organize the storage room now! We pulled all of the boxes (and there were SO many!) out into the family room. I swept and vacuumed and cleaned the storage room. Then, we went out in the garage, cleared off the shelves out there, partially disassembled them, carried them down, and now it is my job to bring the boxes down and organize them on the shelves.

Tuesday, October 9 - Look how cute my Chick-Fil-A breakfast date was! :) After free breakfast, we went over to the pumpkin patch for her preschool field trip. We had a good time hanging out there until she and some friends got lost in the "big" maze!

Wednesday, October 10 - For young women's, the Mia-Maids went on a tour of the MTC in Provo with the Teachers. The girls told us later that this was the funnest activity that we have done! It was a very fun and very spiritual experience.

Thursday, October 11 - Simon is shopping any chance he can get for flooring and bathroom/shower tile. I get random texts from him showing me different ideas. The problem is, I don't really know what I want down there! Later on, I came out from working on laundry to these cuties on the couch. I love how much she loves her daddy.

Friday, October 12 - A lot of my day was spent getting ready for our murder mystery dinner tomorrow nigh. I am getting so excited to have everyone over!

Saturday, October 13 - This was our fun murder mystery group! It's all of the couples in our family...except for BJ. Cute Meg came in BJ's place and we had so much fun! I ended up being the murderer, which I wasn't as thrilled about, but it was super fun!!!

Sunday, October 14 - This is my very favorite part of Sundays and especially with early church - napping! Ricki always gets home, throws her dress off (usually on the floor in the family room), and goes to lay down on our bed. I simply love cuddling with this sweet baby all of the time!

Oct 1 - 7

Monday, October 1 - He did it! Our cute Nick got braces on today!! He looks really cute with braces on and I can't wait for those teeth to be straight and beautiful. Hopefully he can get through the next two or three days of pain. :)

Tuesday, October 2 - Simon and I have talked about getting a king size bed for ages but we finally did it! He has been watching KSL for a few months and this bed set came up for a good price so he called on it. It isn't in perfect condition but it's pretty darn good and we are loving the extra space of the king!

Wednesday, October 3 - We had a really fun/interesting young women's activity. A man in our ward, Brother White, is a mortician at the Memorial Murray Mortuary so he invited us there and gave us a tour. It was really interesting to learn what they do there and how they take care of not only the bodies of the deceased but also the families that come in. It was a really neat experience for both the girls and the leaders. Maybe we will do another "mort tour" in 2019!

Thursday, October 4 - The leaves are changing and we're getting a lot more rain again but we also get awesome things like double rainbows right outside our back door! Tonight, mom and Katie hosted Bunco out at Katie's house and they did a fabulous job! I actually won 4th prize so that was really fun too! Cute mom bought everyone a Halloween apron, even if they didn't win. What a fun night with a super fun group of gals!

Friday, October 5 - Nick and his friends are back at it! Ambra Peterson took Nick, Jackson, and Colten to Lagoon for Frightmares. They loved it! It was a little bit cold outside but it clearly didn't stop these crazies from getting Icees!

Saturday, October 6 - We were here to watch a soccer game so I feel bad that the only picture I ended up taking was of these cute girls playing together. After they colored their pictures, they turned their chairs around, draped a blanket over them, and sat under it fort-style. Love these little baby besties!

Sunday, October 7 - This is an ongoing project that is likely to take me several more hours but...I am going through the kids' clothes and getting rid of anything we no longer need. I don't know how we have accumulated so many but these are all just 3T size! I am boxing them up to give to Ryan and Ashley for Ruby. She's little now but 3T is just around the corner!
