Monday, April 27 - Kendra has been begging me to cut her hair and I had told her that when Simon cut the boys', I would cut hers. I didn't realize he would be cutting their hair outside at Dave and Viv's. I finally agreed to cut hers today...which led into cutting Ricki's too! :) I was super nervous to do it but I think it turned out okay. My dear friend, Cindy Powell, had a big seizure last night so we decided to "heart attack" her door. Everyone sent one big and 2-3 little hearts to hopefully make her day. Jenni has also been in contact with her since she's been through this herself.
Tuesday, April 28 - Book Club! Wahoo!!! I'll be honest, we didn't discuss any book in any detail but it was great getting together with these ladies and just socializing. You don't realize how much you miss other human interaction until you get a little taste of it again!
Wednesday, April 29 - Happy birthday Amie!! We got lunch and social distanced at a park to eat it but do you think either Amie or I thought to get a picture?!?! Kendra and I had a Zoom Young Women activity tonight. We played a game where you describe how to draw a typical household item and the girls on the call have to draw it and guess what it is. It was fun and the girls that joined seemed to enjoy doing it. :)
Thursday, April 30 - The Utah Armed Forces decided to do a fly-by to honor the brave men and women on the front lines of our Covid war - the healthcare workers risking their lives to help others. At 1:00, we went outside and saw them on their fly-by twice! It was spectacular and so so loud! :) This afternoon, Ricki took Bridget a birthday gift (a puzzle and Kit Kat). They were so cute talking to each other. It was almost as if all things were right in the world. Tonight, we took a little drive out to Lehi to deliver Ruby and Henry's birthday gifts. They were so cute and happy to get birthday gifts. We gave Henry soccer stuff and Ruby Play-Dough and a memory game. Love those kids!
Friday, May 1 - For school, Nick had to recreate a famous work of art. He chose "The Son of Man" by René Magritte because he thought it looked easier than some of the other options It was actually fairly hard to recreate. He worked really hard on it so I hope he gets a good grade! (So glad teachers give "us" these projects to do!
Saturday, May 2 - Ricki wanted her nails painted so I agreed. She wanted rainbow nails. Not a political statement (sad that I have to specify that these days) but she loves rainbows and unicorns.:) He was one happy girl when they were done!
Sunday, May 3 - Marisa gave me a sourdough starter about a week. ago. I have never made sourdough bread before so I was a little nervous to make it but I "fed" the starter, let it raise overnight, then prepped them today before baking. We had homemade chicken noodle soup and yummy fresh sourdough bread for dinner! Thanks Marisa!
