Feb 1 - 7

Monday, February 1 - Kendra's school got shut down for the week due to the number of cases of active Coronavirus cases so we took advantage of her being out of school. After I worked, I picked her up and we ran a bunch of errands and went to lunch at Village Baker. I love spending one-on-one time with each of my kids! (And she is an extra-fun shopping partner.)

Tuesday, February 2 - I spent a lot of my day baking cookies for tomorrow's Young Women cookie Zoom class. I baked the whole first batch without any problems but then had to just get the second batch ready and put in the fridge so that I could take Nick to the doctor. He has this funky nail that I have been concerned about so we had it checked out. The doc thinks it is from a previous virus or injury to the nail bed and that it will eventually go away on it's own...fingers crossed! When we got home, I rolled out and baked the second batch of cookies. When they came out, I could tell something was off with them. They just didn't look right so I took a taste of one and they definitely did not taste right either! I finally realized what I had done. I forgot to add the sugar! To the SUGAR cookies! Oops! Instead of each Young Woman getting 3 cookies to practice on, they all got 2 because I was not about to make a third batch for the day! :(

Wednesday, February 3 - It took quite a bit of work but I got all of these cute cookie kits ready and out to all of Class 1 (Beehives) before our Zoom call started at 7:00 pm. I showed the girls how to pipe the edging around the cookie then fill each cookie with royal icing. I wish they had three cookies to practice on because I felt like it was a little short but I think they had a good time. I loved being "with" my girls again and enjoyed seeing the creations that they came up with on their cookies.

Thursday, February 4 - What a week! Bunco was at my house tonight. It was fun to have it here but a little bit stressful cleaning up from all the cookie fun we had last night and getting everything set up for bunco tonight. Everything went without a hitch though and I was able to enjoy the evening with my friends despite the stress of it. I photo bombed Jenni and Meg's picture and I'm so glad I did because that is the only picture that got taken at bunco. :)

Friday, February 5 - Marisa took me on an adventure first thing this morning. We went and met up with Courtney from "Cakes by Courtney". She's a super cute girl and a super famous Instagrammer. Marisa makes a lot of her cakes and I just like watching what she does because she is really talented. She's been on shows like Good Morning America and Rachel Ray. It was fun and exciting to meet her (although it was also cold and windy). We're going to keep trying for the next few Fridays because the first 10-20 people actually get a free cake from her! SO fun!

Saturday, February 6 - Happy birthday to Halle & Brielle! They had a fun baking birthday party at Jenni's today. I went to help out and to show them some simple techniques to frost cupcakes. It was super fun and I was glad I got to be a part of it. We gave them half of their birthday gift; baby doll diaper bags. They will get their other half next Sunday at their family Zoom birthday party.

Sunday, February 7 - Are you ready for some football?? Today was the super bowl and we were invited to go to Ryan and Ashley's to watch the big game. It was the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay pretty much slaughtered KC. :( There was an unusual occurrence, a man ran through the field right before a play started. They didn't show much of it on TV but the pictures, YouTube videos, and memes after the show were pretty great! Haha!
