Monday, March 7 - When it rains, it pours! I have had some emotional struggles in this past week and on Saturday I ended up coming down with a cold. At first it was just a scratchy throat. Then I started coughing. Today, I called in sick to work and spent the day, miserable, in my bed! I took an at-home Covid test and that was negative. Around 5:30, Marisa showed up with dinner! She is so great!! It was soothing to both my belly and my soul to have a hot dinner show up at my front door! She's a good friend!
Tuesday, March 8 - Because I was so sick, I asked if I could do my counseling session online. I hate to do that but I needed to talk to my Counselor, Amy, but I also wasn't up to going to her office today. Besides that, I had to help drive kids to the movies for Nick's birthday party (they went and saw "Uncharted") so it worked out perfectly. I did really good not to cry...until right at the very end! :) I needed it today though so I am thankful for technology and the ability to meet with her even from my own office at home!
Wednesday, March 9 - Zack and Kendra tagged along to Nick's birthday party yesterday very last-minute and this little sweetie was feeling a little left out. So we went to Fizz today, got her her favorite drink, and then she also was able to get a candy bar out of me when we stopped at the store for some quick groceries. I sure do love this blue-mouthed angel of mine!
Thursday, March 10 - What a day! First of all, it was finally the Battle of the Books (BOB) competition at school. I still wasn't really feeling up to being there yet but I went because I've worked with these kids all year to get them ready for today. I wasn't going to miss it! After helping with BOB from 8:45-11:30 and then working my shift at the school, I came home and slept for a solid two hours! Ricki's dinner choice for this week was crepes so we made those and everyone was in heaven! Around 9:00, Nick came home with a whole posse of boys and asked Kendra to help him write a poster to ask a girl to the prom. This is what they came up with. It was pretty cute! He asked a girl named Gabby. (although, read on a few weeks. He didn't actually end up going with Gabby.) It was a pretty eventful day for a Thursday!
Friday, March 11 - Viv, Nick, and I went to Costco to buy some fruit and supplies we needed for Alexis' baby shower tomorrow. As we were walking through, I noticed a Cutco display. We stopped and let the guy suck us in to his sales pitch. However, I didn't need to be sucked in! I want Cutco knives and we are completely without a knife set right now so it seemed perfect! Well, perfect except for the price! For some reason, Simon wasn't super keen on the idea of spending $1,200 on a knife set. Why?!?!
Saturday, March 12 - We started our day out in the best way possible. Kendra, Viv, and I went to Alexis' baby shower for baby Brooks. It was so fun and her sister, Skylar, did such an amazing job! The decorations were beautiful, the food was so yummy, and everything just turned out perfect! I'm so happy Brooks is on the up and up! This afternoon, we had a primary activity. We "shamrock attacked" doors in our ward. So basically, we cut out a ton of shamrocks, had the kids write love notes on them, then taped them to 8 people's doors in our ward. So fun!
Sunday, March 13 - First of all, happy birthday to Viv! :) It was Daylight Savings so we had to move the clocks forward an hour. I don't usually love that but with the logic of losing an hour of winter, I suppose I'm okay with it! Haha! Viv asked for cinnamon rolls for dessert and we celebrated her, Nick, and Gary's birthdays at dinner. Thankfully, I'm feeling back to normal and ready to get back to regular life.
