Nov 2 - 8

Monday, November 2 - Well, all of these cute kids stayed home sick today. It was a good thing because the pediatrician's office called first thing this morning and said that Zack's strep culture came back positive even though his rapid test on Friday was negative. Ricki still has an elevated temperature and poor Kendra's nose is just raw! Tonight, I had a massage so I stopped by a ballot drop to drop off our voting ballots. Yay, we voted. I don't feel great about this election, whichever way this election goes but...we'll see what happens.

Tuesday, November 3 - Kendra has been working for a while on this 1,000 piece puzzle and finally finished it tonight. She loves puzzles and I love that she loves them!

Wednesday, November 4 - I started not feeling super great today. I can't tell if I actually don't feel well or if it's a migraine. Simon was going to Sam's Club so Nick asked if he could pick him up some candy (since he didn't get to go trick-or-treating) so Simon grabbed him some Reece's. I asked if he could grab dinner so this is what he came home with. It was perfect! The kids were happy and I didn't have to make it! Win-win!

Thursday, November 5 - Unfortunately, Simon wasn't feeling well last night so I was questioning whether to work or not but we had a big pop-up tonight so I did end up working. Savannah and Amy came and I made Savy try on this super cute top. She's such a doll!

Friday, November 6 - Oh Simon and his fu manchu (she hits forehead with hand). He still is not feeling well so he made an appointment to be Covid tested. However, the numbers are reaching into the 3,000/day so they are running low on tests and he can't get in until Sunday. Simon and I went to Kneader's yesterday for lunch and after sitting in the drive-thru forever and getting home, I realized they gave me the wrong salad! I was mad!! So...they put me on the manager's list to receive a free salad - which I cashed in on tonight for dinner! I was super happy about that!

Saturday, November 7 - I spent the whole day trying to get ready for our upcoming card exchange. It's Christmas tags and I have to do 15 sets of 3 so 48 total tags. I also got an itch to organize my office so now the whole room is pulled completely apart, there is tag stuff everywhere, and to top it off, I hated what I made (the top tag with the green). However, after consulting with my personal consultants (Jenni, Mom, Marisa, and Liz), I decided to change it for the bottom tag. :) Still not done with them but I have a good start.

Sunday, November 8 - We did church at home again today. It works out so great when we have family members that aren't feeling 100%. Everyone is definitely on the mend and all of the kids have been back to school since Wednesday but I still don't think Simon should be in public yet. He went this afternoon and got tested for Covid so we should know in the next 48 hours if he is positive or not.

Oct 26 - Nov 1

Monday, October 26 - Jenni and I took the kids to Gardner Village to get one final Fall Break peak at the witches before Halloween. Of course, it has been an unseasonably warm October and today the high was only 32°. That's my luck! Haha! It was really fun and at the end, we went to the candy shop and I let the kids all pick a treat to try. It was a fun outing to finish off a good week break.

Tuesday, October 27 - I started thinking about Christmas and neighbor gifts today and got Google-ing. Look how cute these tiny masks for 2020 are! However, Jenni already bought a bunch of glass ornaments so I might do the toilet paper idea. :)

Wednesday, October 28 - It was crazy hair day at school today so this is how we did sister's hair. Unfortunately, it turned out really beautiful and I think she could wear it like this to a prom someday! :) Tonight, Jenni's Relief Society did a craft night so I went and made a block snowman. It was really fun and I got to meet her cute neighbor Crystal. It was a good night!

Thursday, October 29 - I took grandma to get her hair done and then to her doctor, Dr. Harold. It was a long day out (like 5+ hours) but it was fun being with grams. Tonight, I took a cookie making class and it was so fun! I enjoyed learning some of the in's and out's of cookie decorating.

Friday, October 30 - We unexpectedly had Kenny and Katie's kids tonight. Katie is still in rehab and Kenny has to work tomorrow so they were going to sleep over at Jenni's house tonight. Jenni started feeling really yucky today though so she couldn't have them. However, Zack started feeling crummy yesterday and he's been pretty darn sick. Kenny can't miss work though and with all the Covid stuff going on, mom is out so they came to us. We had a fun and exciting evening with them!

Saturday, October 31 - The weather today is super beautiful so we carved pumpkins in the backyard. Dave and Viv came over to watch us and it was perfect because we were able to social distance and not be too close together. Later tonight, poor little Ricki wasn't feeling great and Zack was still on the mend but they went trick-or-treating for a little while. Nick went over to his friend, Wil's house to watch a scary movie. He may regret that decision but I guess he's old enough to be having those experiences. It was a spooky fun Halloween!

Sunday, November 1 - Ricki has a fever, Kendra has a red stuffy nose, and Zack is finally feeling a little better but isn't sure yet about school tomorrow. At least they all have candy to make them feel better. :)

Oct 19 - 25

Monday, October 19 - This is the happy face of a grandma that apparently hasn't had hot eggs in the morning in at least months, possibly years. I'm so glad that she is so thrilled to be staying with my parents. This is the best case scenario possible!

Tuesday, October 20 - Well, for as happy as she was yesterday, she was in incredible pain today. She has been having some bathroom problems so we sat in the emergency room for 4 hours while they decided how they were going to clean out her bowels. They finally did it by hand and it was awful! Probably one of the most awful and traumatizing things I have watched someone go through. So sad!

Wednesday, October 21 - Mom brought Grandma Howard over to get her nails done. She is feeling MUCH better since yesterday's ER visit and was thrilled to have beautiful light pink nails done on her fingers. Mom was also glad to get her traditional Jack Skelington nails for Halloween.

Thursday, October 22 - The kids are still off school for Fall Break so I took Kendra today to run some errands with me. We first stopped by Swig, of course, then went to Ikea to get some more things for my office. We had fun walking through the whole store just looking at stuff. :) Then, we went to Walmart for some grocery and other items. It was a good day - just my girl and I. Tonight, I was baking sugar cookies when Jenni called and asked if we could do a kid swap. She brought Brielle to us for a sleepover and took Zack home with her. These cute girls had fun playing with some cookie dough and then decorating/eating their cookies.

Friday, October 23 - Today was Ethan Olson's birthday so we watched the girls while they did a chilly outdoor birthday party. :) The cookies that we made last night were actually for our new neighbors that moved into the Edward's old home (YAY) but I forgot to take a picture of what I made. I love decorating cookies. In fact, I am taking a cookie class in the next work or so. And PS, the new neighbors are great! They seem really really nice!

Saturday, October 24 - We had our second Murder Mystery dinner tonight. We had these three fun couples over and played the game all over again. It was super fun and everyone brought a fun perspective to the game. I had a good time putting both dinner parties on. I'll have to do it again next year!

Sunday, October 25 - Well, it has happened. The first snow of the season. :( Here we go...

Oct 12 - 18

Monday, October 12 - Today is Columbus Day so Simon had the day off. Once Nick got home from school, the two of them took off and went riding at 5-mile pass. They only rode for a few hours but they had a really good time. I'm glad they had the chance to go do that together.

Tuesday, October 13 - Since we are almost a dissolved presidency, we decided to go out to dinner as one last hoorah. Unfortunately, Stephanie may have Covid so she wasn't able to come but the rest of us enjoyed our time spent together talking and reminiscing about the three years we've had this calling together. I love these ladies and am looking forward to what the next chapter for each of us will be.

Wednesday, October 14 - Well, this is sadly my last young women's activity with Kendra as her leader. We played kickball at the Splash Park with the Deacons. Everyone had fun and only Jenny, Marisa, and I were a little emotional saying goodbye to everyone.

Thursday, October 15 - This is what we look like (from my computer) when we have nothing going on on a Thursday night.

Friday, October 16 - We had appointments for Ricki and Kendra to get haircuts from Bestie today. Kendra went ahead and got her hair cut OFF! It went from halfway down her back to shoulder-length! She looks so darling! Ricki also got at least 4" cut off but you almost can't tell because it is so long and beautiful still. :)

Saturday, October 17 - We had a fun day! We started with a small impromptu yard sale first thing. At 1:00, we met my family at the pumpkin patch for our annual Mabey Pumpkin Patch day. Afterward, not all but some of us went to Las Glorias for "linner". I love my fam!

Sunday, October 18 - We had an interesting Sunday dinner tonight. We have been trying to get grandma moved out of her house because Harlee is abusive and just basically awful but we finally did it today! Mom and dad picked up grandma under the pretense of Sunday dinner but really, they were picking her up for good! The top picture is of the boys taking care of Kayla while we had our intervention with grandma inside. The bottom picture is the look of relief on grandma's face when she realized that her new home would be here at my dad's house. My mom is going to take amazing care of her in these, her last months/years of life.

Oct 5 - 11

Monday, October 5 - Family picture time again! We went to FotoFly in Lehi this time and they did another beautiful job! It was a crazy evening but I'm glad we got it done.

Tuesday, October 6 - Simon is selling this Storm Trooper helmet so Ricki had to try it on and wear it around the house for a while. :) I had to take a picture of her most beautiful hair because I curled it yesterday for family pictures, brushed it this morning, and this is how it looks after a whole day of school! I have a little #babyhairenvy. Haha!

Wednesday, October 7 - Nick asked me if I could take him to lunch today and I didn't have a lot going on so I said sure. :) Tonight for Young Women's, we did a virtual tour of the Mormon Battalion in San Diego, CA. It was really a cute activity and I was glad I got to do it with Kendra.

Thursday, October 8 - Happy birthday to Ricki's bestie! We took a gift over to Penney but of course, she insisted that Kendra and Ricki take a pumpkin home with them. She is so cute with Ricki. I am glad that they found each other. :)

Friday, October 9 - Adrianna and Kendra took a face mask sewing class with my friend Erika tonight. I knew that Adrianna was going to come over to hang out for a while but the girls asked me if they could have a sleepover and since they are such wonderful girls...we said yes! This is the first sleepover that Kendra has ever gotten so she was pretty darn excited! :)

Saturday, October 10 - We started our day this morning with a soccer game. My mom and Simon's parents came so it was extra fun that it was their last game and that Zack got two goals! I stayed busy the rest of the day getting ready for our fun Murder Mystery party! Unfortunately, Katie is in rehab, again, so Lori came in her place. That was fun because she flies home first thing tomorrow morning so we loved getting to spend the last few hours with her. Turned out that Kenny was the killer! :)

Sunday, October 11 - Well, today was a pretty bad day. It seems like they are coming closer together lately. We started Zoom sacrament meetings today and just before it started at 11:30, I got a call asking if I could come in and meet with a member of the bishopric at 2:00. Turns out, the whole Young Women's presidency and advisors is getting released next Sunday. :( Then, to add to the bummer, while we were at Dave & Viv's for Sunday dinner, my mom texted me and told me to call my brother. I went downstairs and called him and it seems like his marriage may be in jeopardy. Such a sad day.
