Oct 17 - 23

Monday, October 17 - I wanted to try something new with my nails. I ordered nail tips, glued them on, then gel nailed over them. I want to see if they will last longer and/or without chipping like real nails. We'll see...

Tuesday, October 18 - I tried tips on my nails so Kendra had to try them on hers! :) Look how cute her black nails with ghosts are! I really do love Halloween Nails!

Wednesday, October 19 - Zack got the Leader of the Month award today! I am so proud of him! He has gotten this award every year in elementary school! He is a great student but also a great friend and a delight to have in his classes. I'm so happy for him! Tonight, the Priests and Varsity classes asked me to teach a cookie class for their activity. I let each kid do 3 cookies and we did fancy cookies! It was so fun! I think the kids enjoyed it. I hope!

Thursday, October 20 - Mom came out to get her nails done this morning so I asked if she wanted to go to Ricki's Fall Fair with me. Kendra helped Ricki paint this adorable picture of a panda and then she had to memorize a script about it. She explained that she loves arts & crafts, painted this with paints and sharpie markers, and it was done on a canvas. She's so cute! She came up with this idea all on her own!

Friday, October 21 - I did Viv's nails again today too! She is loving this new look of French tips with a line under them. I agree, they are way cute! :)

Saturday, October 22 - We were supposed to go camping at Fillmore this weekend. However, the weather went from 70's this week to a high of 40 today! Not only was it cold, it was supposed to snow and stick to the ground. The thoughts of going and being stuck in the tiny tent trailer, freezing cold all weekend just finally deterred us from going. The kids were so excited to ride the four-wheeler in Fillmore so Simon got it out and let the kids ride it around the neighborhood for a while. They were in heaven! We'll have to make sure we get more camping trips in next summer.

Sunday, October 23 - We had Dave, Viv, Alexis, and her kids over for dinner tonight. We invited Ryan's family and Gary but Gary was out of town and Ryan's family already had plans. :) My kids just dote over Brooks and his every move. Now that he's more interactive, they LOVE to make him smile and laugh! After watching the news and seeing how awful I-15 is this weekend, we are super happy we didn't go camping. It really would have been miserable!

Oct 10 - 16

Monday, October 10 - As you can see from this picture, I had a pretty bad day! I finally got around to putting Halloween decorations up this morning and got going on it first thing. Back when we got married, my mom gave us a Halloween mop doll that she had made several years earlier. The doll is holding some decorations, including a plastic mouse. The mouse came off probably 5 years ago and I've never bothered to glue it back on. Today, after debating whether we should even keep it or not, I got out my glue gun to fix it. Once it was hot, I made a pool of glue to stick the mouse in. When I went to put the mouse on the glue, I accidentally set my pinky in the hot glue. I obviously knew it was hot right when I did it but it kept burning. It's not like getting burned by a curling iron where you can quickly pull your hand away. The glue is stuck so it just keeps on burning. I tried to pull the glue off but (this part is graphic) it was my skin that came away! The tip got a giant blister but the skin was literally burned off in the middle. I have been in so much pain today that I have to sit with it resting on an ice pack or I can't handle the pain! This is awful!!

Tuesday, October 11 - Day 2. I didn't go to work today. I thought it felt better last night but after I went to bed, I only slept off and on because of how painful it was. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but my whole finger is swollen and if I think about it, the pain radiates from the tip of my pinky all the way to my wrist. I feel like I'm being kind of a baby about it but at the same time, it is just so dang painful! I really feel terrible for people that are burned over large portions of their bodies. Just this little burn has been no joke! Despite my injury, I did Jenni's toenails this afternoon. It was a little more challenging because of my hand but we got it done. :)

Wednesday, October 12 - I promise I won't post finger update pictures every single day but some of the skin that had been wrinkled up got stuck to my bandage this morning so I clipped it off with clippers. Look how nasty the poor skin is under that layer! Yuck!! Tonight was our ward Fall Festival. It was Harry Potter themed and it was fun! The youth did rooms with games and treats in each so that the primary kids could go around and enjoy the party! My kids had a blast!

Thursday, October 13 - First thing this morning was "Moms and Muffins" at the kids' school. We had fun going around and talking to all of the kids' friends. I love them and their friends and I'm glad I am home and able to go to events like this!

Friday, October 14 - Let's Go Jazz, Let's Go! We went to the Jazz game with Amie and Alex and their amazing tickets! First, we had dinner in the Toyota Club. That was awesome! Then, we sat on the 10th row and enjoyed the game. It was so much fun being out together and with these fun friends of ours!

Saturday, October 15 - It's Pumpkin Patch Day! We all met at the Mabey Pumpkin Patch and picked out awesome pumpkins! Then tonight, although I have no pictures, the McCullough's and us went over to the Davenport's for dinner. It was so much fun!

Sunday, October 16 - Mom and Dad are going on a two week cruise so we did our annual Halloween family party today. Mom had so much cute theme food and games to go with it! We had a blast and even played a whole family game together! I love this family of mine!

Oct 3 - 9

Monday, October 3 - It was a big nail day today! I did Viv's nails first thing this morning, had lunch with mom, and then did her nails. I love Halloween nails! They are extra fun!

Tuesday, October 4 - When mom came to get her nails done yesterday, she brought some almost-expired graham crackers to see if my kids would eat them. After everyone went to school this morning, I sent her this picture of the empty graham cracker box and told her that they were already gone. Haha! If she ever has nearly expired food, she should give it to my children who, despite the full pantry and fridge, seem to be starving! :)

Wednesday, October 5 - Simon is enjoying his new calling with the Young Men. Tonight, they went over to Hans Reno's house to do some woodworking. I'm so glad he's back with the boys. They love him and I know being with them is great for him!

Thursday, October 6 - Zack and Ricki had Parent-Teacher Conferences this morning. Ricki was so excited to show me her name on the hallway board. :) We got glowing reports about both kids - I couldn't be happier with them and their progress. Tonight, we had Bunco and cute Carol did a costume contest. It was so much fun!

Friday, October 7 - Zack went to Chase's birthday party tonight at Airborne and had a blast! When he got home, we hurried out the door to Trevan and Jake's football game. They played so great! They won and we were able to celebrate with them after the game on the field. It was so fun to be there and see it!

Saturday, October 8 - I made these lemon cookies for another bridal shower that Jenni was throwing. Her niece, Kenzie, is getting married in a couple of weeks so she threw her a "She Found Her Main Squeeze" shower. I am enjoying so much doing cookies. I keep throwing around the idea of doing a cookie business. We'll see...

Sunday, October 9 - Ricki has been begging for Halloween nails all week so today we took the time to do it. They turned out really cute and fun!

Sep 26 - Oct 2

Monday, September 26 - Day 2 at Disney! We started today at Disneyland so we ordered our Mickey Macaroons before we even got to the gate. They are so yummy and the best treat, in my opinion, in all of Disney! The girls I went with in order of the castle picture are: Whitney (our Media Specialist), Brooke, Liz, and Mandi (all three my co-workers), and Kim (a friend of Liz and Mandi's). We had such a fun group! Brooke and I walked back to the hotel this afternoon for a mid-day siesta. It was awesome to rest for a little bit before we went back and just about closed Disney down.

Tuesday, September 27 - Sadly, our last day in California. We started out this morning in California Adventure then went over to Disneyland. I did the dumbest thing, I tripped walking up the stairs coming off of Indiana Jones and totally scraped my knee. Haha, it had to have been pretty humorous to watch. I swung my arms around like 5 times before I finally biffed it! :) I was fine though; mostly just hurt my pride! Liz bought a few of these Cookie Butter Churro Sundaes for us to try and oh man, SOOO good! One of the best parts of going to Disney with Liz is that she knows all the good treats!

Wednesday, September 28 - As I was busy traveling home from California, Simon took this sweet girl to the orthodontist to get her braces off. Look how cute she is in her "after" picture! I'm so happy for her and her new beautiful smile! All of us travelers were sending our ugly faces to one another because we miss being together making them on rides. :) Ricki and I sent our ugly faces to the group! We did this while being outside waiting for Zack's game to start. It was a fun game to watch. We won 10-1! Yay!

Thursday, September 29 - Well, apparently 3 of the 6 girls that went to California together are now sick with Covid! Dang it!! I've had a little sore throat but nothing else so I tested today and it came back negative. Simon went this morning to the Zoo with MACU to help set up Zoo Lights. When he got home from that and the kids made it home from school, we hit the road to St. George to meet Simon's family for the St. George marathon.

Friday, September 30 - We are having a lot of fun in St. George with the fam. I feel bad that there is a chance I could have Covid but we told the family and asked them if they wanted me to go home. No one seemed too worried about it so I stayed but tried to stay away from everyone as much as I could. Cute little Finley ran the kids 1 mile run tonight. She did so good! She's so cute!

Saturday, October 1 - It's marathon day! We went early with the kids to meet up with Alexis at the end of her half marathon. She did great! Then, we went back over about an hour later to watch for Gary to cross, then Ryan. What a wonderful accomplishment for these guys! Cute Ruby was eating Mickey Mouse shaped Goldfish so I took this picture. Makes me want to go back!

Sunday, October 2 - We got home from our trip this afternoon and we needed some dinner. Nick had these meatball skewers on the dinner list for this week so we made them. They were interesting to make but they were pretty yummy. I don't know if they'll go into our regular rotation but it was sure fun to spend time in the kitchen with Nick and get them made!
