Aug 24 - 30

Monday, August 24 - First day of school for these cute girls! I walked with Kendra and Mailey to the bus stop at the top of our street and we met up with Savannah and Taylor. It was 7th Grade Orientation today so the 7th graders were the only ones in the school. These kids are so excited to get back to "normal" and be at school.

Tuesday, August 25 - It's the first official day of school! Carpool took Nick early this morning and Kendra rode the bus. I took Zack and Ricki for their first day today and they met up with friends. I can't believe how many ward friends are in Zack's class! And of course, Ricki and Bridget were joined at the hip all day. Tonight, we had one of the best book clubs we've had in a long time. Not only because of the amazing food but because we read a book about President Nelson so our discussion was spiritual. Also, not a ton of people came so it made for a more enriching and engaged discussion.

Wednesday, August 25 - Ricki and Bridget wanted to twin today so they wore their matching Knotted Fern dresses. They are so cute! Tonight, mom treated us girls to dinner at Ruth's Diner. We labeled it a "planning meeting" for Kenny's upcoming 30th birthday but really, we just wanted an excuse to go to dinner together. :) Thanks mom!

Thursday, August 26 - I got my hairs done! Jessie re-dyed it to more of my natural color. I am enjoying the low-maintenance as well as the length of it. It just always feels good to get my hair done professionally. The head massage while I get a wash is pretty awesome too!

Friday, August 27 - I know Ricki and Bridget got mentioned a lot this week but seriously, how cute are they?!? They played dress-up in Ricki's room then went in my office to do a craft. :) Tonight, we had an end of summer young women's activity. We watched "Once I was a Beehive" at Katelynn Goldhardt's house. They have an amazing patio set up to accommodate a group. We didn't get done until after 10:00 but it was super fun to watch it with these girls.

Saturday, August 28 - We had a great Saturday! Zack had a soccer game at 8:00 am and he scored a goal! YAY! We had a pretty chill rest of the day at home then went to dinner as a family. We watched the movie "Take Down" which is about a relative of mine named Richard Worthington. He held several patients and nurses hostage at Alta View Hospital back in the 80's. They actually made a lifetime movie about him! Funny enough, the Peterson family in my ward (Brett Peterson) is also related to him making Nick and his good buddy Colten 5th cousins.

Sunday, August 30 - Family fun day at doing our annual tradition: dinner and a walk around Silver Lake. We always have fun when we get this crew together and tonight was no exception! Dinner was yummy and the walk around the lake was beautiful. Plus, it was a little (and I mean ONLY a LITTLE) nice to need a sweater. :) I'm so glad we do this each year. It's such a wonderful tradition.

Aug 17 - 23

Monday, August 17 - Oh blessed day! We FINALLY got new carpet!! It is wonderful! The carpet came while I was at work this morning. I got to see it for about 3 minutes before all four kids and I ran out the door to their dentist appointment. Good news though, NO CAVITIES! Wahoo! (Oh, and look how cute Ricki's hair is! Kendra did it!)

Tuesday, August 18 - Today was a busy day for all. I got up early and went with Liz and Marisa to a photo shoot in Provo. While I was there, Simon texted me and told me that Ricki learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. What?!? She just took it upon herself to figure it out! Tonight was Zack and Simon's first soccer practice since last fall (thanks to Covid). Simon is an Assistant Coach to Andy Henderson and Zack P. and Zach H. are on the team. So fun!

Wednesday, August 19 - I got the very special opportunity to take Amie to her college graduation! She received her bachelor's degree which is the first giant milestone in becoming a family counselor. I am so proud of her and all she has overcome to be where she is today. Congratulations Amie!

Thursday, August 20 - Family Lagoon Day! We decided that since we weren't able to go on any vacations this year and because school starts next week, we would take a day off and go to Lagoon. We had a blast! It was so fun being there together and spending the day with the kiddos. I'm glad we got to do this before all craziness breaks loose next week.

Friday, August 21 - As a "primary activity" today, the Primary Presidency came around with an ice cream truck. The kids loved running out there and getting whatever ice cream they had. We got to experience cookies and cream Creamies for the first time and it was yummy!

Saturday, August 22 - Zack had his very first soccer game this morning. He did great! No goals but his team looks good this year! We went straight from soccer to Deer Creek Reservoir. We met up with Jenni and her family and Meg and her family. We only stayed for a few hours because it was super windy (it broke our easy-up) and we had to get back to take the boys to their Grandma Camp Out. After we dropped them off, the girls, Simon, and I went to American Burger for dinner. What a fun day!

Sunday, August 23 - We got to celebrate T-Shizzle and Jaker Baker! Trevan turned 16 on August 14th and Jake will be 14 on September 2nd. I still can't believe these guys are getting so old. How is it that they get older but I stay the same? Hmmm?!?

Aug 10 - 16

Monday, August 10 - Simon and I had an appointment this afternoon to go to Lowe's and meet with their Interior Designer. We liked her better than the designer at Home Depot but it still just isn't exactly what we are looking for. We are going to get a few more bids to make sure we don't overpay for our basement kitchen. It's coming along though!

Tuesday, August 11 - Ricki had a bath tonight and I spent lots of time brushing the tangles out of her beautiful locks. When I got all done, I realized that she is less than half an inch from it getting all the way to her bum! I love this girl!

Wednesday, August 12 - It's FINALLY here!! Meg, Marisa, Jenni, and I took off on a St. George adventure. We had a fun day driving down and stopping in Cedar City. We went to one of our favorite clothing boutiques, Indigo & Sage, and found some good Italian food at Chef Alfredo's. We pulled into St. George as it was just getting dark. It was a perfect first day to our fun trip!

Thursday, August 13 - We were having a hard time deciding where to go for "breakfast" since we got up around 10:00 am and didn't leave the house until 11:30. Haha! After our first choice was closed down, we went to our second one, The Pizza Factory. Yum! We also went shopping at TJ Max, watched "Hitch" while Marisa did Meg's toenails, and ate at a Mexican restaurant that I've never been to called Cafe Sabor. It was a really great day! Lots of laughter and fun!

Friday, August 14 - Happy Sweet 16th to Trevan! I can't believe the baby I used to lug around on my hip is 16 years old! I can't wait to celebrate him next weekend! On our girl's trip, we went to Gunlock Reservoir after our brunch at Kneader's. Yum! The temperature was about 106° so the cool water of the reservoir felt amazing! We only stayed for a couple of hours because it was just so hot! Meg knew of a yummy pie shop in Veyo which is on the way back to the house from the reservoir so we went. I wasn't going to get a piece of pie because I don't normally love pie but I spotted a caramel apple pie slice and had to try it. I was SO glad I did! It was on spot! Once we went back and cleaned up, we went back out to dinner at another place I've never been called George's. I shared a sandwich with Jenni and it was good but not great. I wished I would have gotten what Meg and Marisa got, a Caesar chicken sandwich. Next time for sure! We ended up staying up until 3:00 am watching "The Proposal" and visiting. Oops! :)

Saturday, August 15 - I think today was my favorite day of this whole girl's trip! We found a yummy little Crepe shop called The Crepery. Then, we went over to BJ's dad's beautiful new home, went on a tour, then set up camp right next to the pool! It was so amazing! Just to sit next to the water, talk, sip a Diet Coke, and enjoy being in the beautiful surroundings. It was perfect! We stayed all day, went back for showers, then went to another new place that I haven't ever been, 25 Main. It was SOOO good! I loved it and want to take mom back when we go on our girls trip next year!

Sunday, August 16 - I can't believe that we are already going home! We were a little faster on our way home than we were getting there but it was a good thing...because we didn't leave St. George until 4:00! It was a great weekend and I hope we can do it again another time in the future!

Aug 3 - 9

Monday, August 3 - Ricki and Zack got new outfits at their birthday party yesterday so they tried them on today. Everything fit great except for Zack's pants. Even though he is 9, he really needs size 6 waist and size 7 length. I took the pants back and got him a 7 and they fit much better! This afternoon, Mailey came over to finish the Young Women invitations and run them around to all of the girls. They are so great!!

Tuesday, August 4 - Mom came over to get her nails done. She is so sweet. She came over during lunchtime and ended up buying my entire family pizza. I love hanging out with my mommy!

Wednesday, August 5 - Mailey came over just before 7:00 to get on our young women's Zoom call. They did the whole thing and it went great! It was a household scavenger hunt and the girls that came had so much fun! I am so proud of these girls for taking the leadership and doing everything for this activity!

Thursday, August 6 - I am going on a girl's trip with these gals so we "HAD" to get together today for a "planning meeting". In this case, planning meeting meant lunch at a Cafe in Daybreak and talking about a million things...and a little about the upcoming trip.

Friday, August 7 - My girls were again begging me to paint their nails so we did some nails this afternoon. I don't always love to do their nails but I do enjoy the one-on-one time with them. :)

Saturday, August 8 - Happy 17th anniversary to us! :) For our fun anniversary date, we went to Home Depot and began designing our basement kitchen. It was actually really fun to see it all come together. We ate at Chili's for dinner then had shake later on. We watched a cute movie on Netflix in the theater room and enjoyed some conversation without kid interruptions. Big ole thanks to Dave and Viv for taking the kiddos overnight!

Sunday, August 9 - We picked the kids up from Dave and Viv's around noon then we had dinner at my parent's tonight. My dad got a fancy new generator so the boys, of course, had to mess with it! I got to do one of my favorite things too, hold sweet Kayla-baby!
