Aug 24 - 30

Monday, August 24 - First day of school for these cute girls! I walked with Kendra and Mailey to the bus stop at the top of our street and we met up with Savannah and Taylor. It was 7th Grade Orientation today so the 7th graders were the only ones in the school. These kids are so excited to get back to "normal" and be at school.

Tuesday, August 25 - It's the first official day of school! Carpool took Nick early this morning and Kendra rode the bus. I took Zack and Ricki for their first day today and they met up with friends. I can't believe how many ward friends are in Zack's class! And of course, Ricki and Bridget were joined at the hip all day. Tonight, we had one of the best book clubs we've had in a long time. Not only because of the amazing food but because we read a book about President Nelson so our discussion was spiritual. Also, not a ton of people came so it made for a more enriching and engaged discussion.

Wednesday, August 25 - Ricki and Bridget wanted to twin today so they wore their matching Knotted Fern dresses. They are so cute! Tonight, mom treated us girls to dinner at Ruth's Diner. We labeled it a "planning meeting" for Kenny's upcoming 30th birthday but really, we just wanted an excuse to go to dinner together. :) Thanks mom!

Thursday, August 26 - I got my hairs done! Jessie re-dyed it to more of my natural color. I am enjoying the low-maintenance as well as the length of it. It just always feels good to get my hair done professionally. The head massage while I get a wash is pretty awesome too!

Friday, August 27 - I know Ricki and Bridget got mentioned a lot this week but seriously, how cute are they?!? They played dress-up in Ricki's room then went in my office to do a craft. :) Tonight, we had an end of summer young women's activity. We watched "Once I was a Beehive" at Katelynn Goldhardt's house. They have an amazing patio set up to accommodate a group. We didn't get done until after 10:00 but it was super fun to watch it with these girls.

Saturday, August 28 - We had a great Saturday! Zack had a soccer game at 8:00 am and he scored a goal! YAY! We had a pretty chill rest of the day at home then went to dinner as a family. We watched the movie "Take Down" which is about a relative of mine named Richard Worthington. He held several patients and nurses hostage at Alta View Hospital back in the 80's. They actually made a lifetime movie about him! Funny enough, the Peterson family in my ward (Brett Peterson) is also related to him making Nick and his good buddy Colten 5th cousins.

Sunday, August 30 - Family fun day at doing our annual tradition: dinner and a walk around Silver Lake. We always have fun when we get this crew together and tonight was no exception! Dinner was yummy and the walk around the lake was beautiful. Plus, it was a little (and I mean ONLY a LITTLE) nice to need a sweater. :) I'm so glad we do this each year. It's such a wonderful tradition.
