May 24 - 30

Monday, May 24 - Ricki lost her other front tooth and Bridget has lost her front teeth too so they are the toothless friends! :)

Tuesday, May 25 - Poor Zacky fell at the rope swing today. He asked me to lift up his shirt and see if he had a scrape. Ummm...yep! Tonight, we had Book Club at Catherine Cummings' house. We just got done reading a book called "How to Walk Away". It was pretty good! I got interrupted at book club by Nick telling me that he had a project due tomorrow for his science class. He had to make an environmental ad to help with his grade in that class. He came up with this all by himself, pretty much drew it all out looking at the cover of the book "Oh, The Places You'll Go" and then I helped him finish painting it so he could go to bed. I cut the vinyl but he put it on the canvas and this is how it turned out. I think it is awesome! :) His teacher actually texted me and said she liked it too so...yay Nick!

Wednesday, May 26 - My mom's cousin, Wendy, came over to get her toenails done. I was worried about talking with her since she is deaf but it was really fine. She is so sweet and easy to get along with. Mom came over to help me out a little and to spend some time with Wendy before she goes home to Arizona next week.

Thursday, May 27 - Meg came over to get her nails done before heading to Hawaii for her Ironman competition. While I was working on Meg, Simon was outside working on our garden. He got everything planted. We went really simple this year because sometimes we have so much, we can't keep up with it! I'm excited to see how it all works out.

Friday, May 28 - Happy birthday to Grandma Sharon today! We celebrated by escaping to Bear Lake! Neither Simon or I had to work today so we were able to hit the road nice and early. We also didn't have to adhere to the check-in time so we were able just to go and get up there, unload, and then sit by the pool and relax the day away. This is the first official vacation we've been on since we went to St. George when the pandemic started so it is long overdue and much needed!!

Saturday, May 29 - Today was another wonderful day at Bear Lake! We played in the pool for a while, went to the Bear Trapper restaurant for lunch, watched the boys fish for a while, then went back to the pool. It was seriously the perfect day!

Sunday, May 30 - The Bear Lake Resort has cancelled a lot of their normal activities due to COVID but they didn't stop hiding the ice cream rocks around. If the kids find a rock, they get a free ice cream over at the shop. Luckily, these kids have an awesome grandpa so the few that didn't find one, got an ice cream from grandpa anyway. :) It is bittersweet being here with Kenny, Katie, and their kids. Just knowing they will be moving to Florida in a month is enough to make my heart ache. Good thing we have these wonderful memories with them to keep us going in the long stretches between seeing them.

May 17 - 23

Monday, May 17 - I am really feeling the birthday love! This lovely group of ladies (plus Jessie who had to leave before we were able to take this picture) and I went to Village Baker to celebrate mine and Catherine's birthdays. We had lots of fun visiting and just hanging out!

Tuesday, May 18 - Meg's birthday and mine are only about a week apart so we went to celebrate our joint birthdays at Gourmandise in Draper today. These are definitely my people! These are the women that I lean on the most and are always there when I need them. Later today, we headed out to Jake's baseball game. His season is coming to an end and we're not sure if we'll make it to any other games so we hit this one. He did so great! He plays either first base or pitches and is arguably one of the best hitters in the league! He is a great baseball player and it is so fun watching him!

Wednesday, May 19 - Mom is doing bunco this month and the theme is lemons so she requested lemon nails. How cute are these!?!? I would do them even if I didn't have a lemon party coming up! Also, little miss lost one of her front teeth. Of course, we are in the process of making family picture plans but there isn't much cuter in this world than a little one with missing front teeth! :)

Thursday, May 20 - It's Harry Potter week at school! I wasn't able to volunteer (I didn't respond quickly enough to the email) but luckily, Marisa did and she got these cute pictures of my main man at school. I am always amazed at how above and beyond they go at this school for Harry Potter week! The activities they do and the things they come home with are just amazing! I'm so glad all of the kids, so far, have been able to participate in Harry Potter week!

Friday, May 21 - Jenni asked if I could please do her toenails before Bear Lake so we scheduled an appointment for today and this is what we did. It was totally improvised but she liked them! Tonight, we took Ryan and Ashley out to dinner at Rodizio Grill to celebrate the end of tax season for Ry (finally) and to thank him for doing our taxes for us. It was a fun night with just the four of us being able to visit and catch up.

Saturday, May 22 - On Monday, Erin Coles called me and said we had a need in the ward that I might be able to help with. She said that Melinda and Breanna Dow were going to do Jake's wedding cake but the week ended up being really overwhelming for them and they needed some help. She asked if I could "help" with the cake but instead, I offered just to take over! It was no stress for me and took a ton of stress from them so I was MORE than happy to help them out for their special day. They said they liked it but I sure hope it was what they wanted. Their wedding was beautiful and aside from it being a little chilly out, it was a perfect night for a wedding!

Sunday, May 23 - Do you think my kids like Olivia at all? She is the sweetest baby! She's always happy and has a very quick smile at anyone that even looks her way. We love little Livvy!

May 10 - 16

Monday, May 10 - This little lady has two teeth that are wiggly on the top so she surprised me when she said that this one on the bottom felt like it needed to come out. Sure enough, one little tug and it popped right out! I feel a tooth-losing trend coming on...

Tuesday, May 11 - Blackridge had their teacher appreciation this week and this is the sweet note Zack's teacher gave him to thank him for some things he brought in. My kids have been blessed with good teachers this year to guide them through this uncertain time.

Wednesday, May 12 - Simon has been working hard to get the back garden ready for the summer. He pulled all of the weeds, made sure the sprinklers worked, raked it all level, and then put down a pre-emergent in hopes that the weeds won't come back too quickly. I love how it looks when it is all fresh and clean!

Thursday, May 13 - For teacher appreciation week, the kids were asked to wear the teacher's favorite color. This is Ricki and some of her classmates wearing Mrs. Crane's favorite color: purple. Elise, Ricki, Jazzy, Kristie Crane, Bridget, Max, & Kadee.

Friday, May 14 - Cute Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Jim wanted to have a fun adventure with the grandkids (now that we finally can go out in public again). Grandma rented a party table at Allstar at the Valley Fair Mall and it came with an hour of any play for the kids, $10 in arcade play, pizza, and all-you-can-drink drinks. We had such a blast! Thanks grandparents for making this fun memory with us!

Saturday, May 15 - It's my birthday! And what a great birthday it has been!! I got up "early" (for me) and went yard-saling with my mom, dad, and sister. Of course, they bought me a donut and Diet Coke for breakfast! When I came home, Ricki wanted to cuddle and fell fast asleep. While she slept,  went and soaked in the tub to get ready for our evening. We met the McCullough's, Price's, and Mortensen's at Chili's for dinner. What a fun group of people I love! Then later tonight, we met up with Jeremy and Marisa at a new ice cream shop called Brookers for some yummy ice cream. It was a perfect day!! 37 isn't looking too bad!

Sunday, May 16 - More celebrating today! We had my birthday dinner at my parent's house tonight. We had all-day spaghetti, my fave, then Jenni did a fun new dessert. It was strawberry shortcake on glazed donuts! Yummmers! I am one spoiled lady!

May 3 - 9

Monday, May 3 - We went to see one of Jake's last baseball games. He is really good! He frequently hits home runs out of the park, sometimes pitches, and usually plays first base. They lovingly call him "Big Mac" and everyone on his team loves him! We really enjoyed watching him tonight!

Tuesday, May 4 - This afternoon, class 1 (the Beehives), went to the temple for the first time since Covid started. They were all able to do baptisms and spend time together.

Wednesday, May 5 - We had tacos for Cinco de Mayo! Then Ricki felt the need to display the massive muscles that she is gaining. Haha!

Thursday, May 6 - The kids have been asking to go over to Rosecrest Park so I took Nick to Wil's house to hang out then took Zack and Ricki to the park. We played on the playground for a while then they wanted to go down in the field to play soccer. We were pleasantly surprised to find Nick and his buddies down there playing frisbee.

Friday, May 7 - We are feeling pretty darn organized at the new house! It's a lot smaller than our last working space so we need to keep it pretty organized too. Hopefully we're able to keep it this way! But we're grateful for how it is going so far.

Saturday, May 8 - It was a busy but fun Saturday. We started out at Zack's last soccer game. And of course, his awesome team slaughtered the other team! Then, the girlies and I got ready and headed to mom's house for our annual Tea Party. It was so much fun! The theme this year was umbrellas and mom went above and beyond to make it amazing! This is such a great tradition! Our primary had a Mother's Day activity today too but Ricki missed it because she was with me. However, Simon went over with Zack and took my place helping out since I'm in the Primary Presidency and wasn't even there to help! I love today!

Sunday, May 9 - Happy Mother's Day! We had the best day every today! The boys made breakfast and we had Dave and Viv over. My family spoiled me rotten! We did church at home then went over to Jenni & BJ's for a yummy Mother's Day dinner. I love days that remind me what a blessing these miracle children are in my life!
